Currently on exams, but I saw everyone posting, I wanted to make my post too. This time has allowed me to brainstorm and gather ideas I will write here, otherwise I might forget 😅.

The main idea is to make a RPG heavily based on story, so it will not have any combat. Along with the game you would also have a pdf file with the same name as the game. Here literature and videogames combine!!! Well, I am no writer. But the pdf will be written like a book and it will have all the worldbuilding necessary for you to fully understand the setting where the RPG takes place. I won’t make it mandatory for you to read the story pdf to play the game, but it will be fundamental for you to really understand what’s going on in the game.

This would be a conceptual game related to the jam’s theme: What would happen in a future world where AI becomes predominent than humans? Would humans have a perfect future, frutiger aero style, or would humans become extinct after AIs going rogue and killing us all? This game’s story will be a theory and possibility out of thousands that could happen.

Main inspirations for now are Oneshot and a song from my favourite band Panchiko called “Laputa” or “R>O>B>O>T>S>R>E>P>R>I>S>E”.

The scope and duration of this game will be significantly bigger than the rest of my other games. Let’s just hope I finish this one on time 😛.

The first step I think it would be write the first chapter of the PDF story. I will update/post here regularly!!

Awesome concept, olistupid!

Mixing a companion PDF book with a combat-free RPG to flesh out the worldbuilding is a textbook transmedia move—and a brilliant way to explore that theme without locking players out of the core experience.

Also, massive points for the Panchiko reference! That bittersweet, nostalgic, slightly broken-tech vibe fits the "world run by AI" reflection perfectly.

Good luck with your exams! Don't stress too much about the scope for now; lock down that first chapter of the PDF, and the game will naturally build around it.

Looking forward to the next devlog update! 🚀
