Could holding a key briefly show the original words when replacements are on? That would let someone check a doubtful translation against its context without going back into Settings

I can do you mouse-over to show the original word, how's that?

That seems great

Now if this could work both ways, letting you mouse-over to see your own translation when replacement is turned off, that would be the best of both worlds! Learning the language, but also being able to quickly verify words you don't yet know by heart.

You know, that was actually my original idea and I implemented it, and as soon as we tried it it felt more like the worst of both worlds - not enough friction to cause you to start to learn words like you do if you have to take a step to look them up (in no-replace mode), but without the benefit of visible progress simplifying what you need to keep in mind (when fully replacing).

Just sharing where we are on it. It’s possible we could circle back on this so I appreciate the thoughts!

Yes, showing the original on hover would cover what I meant. A keyboard option would help too, so checking a doubtful word does not depend on using a mouse
