How does your game interpret and use the Theme / Halloween?
You play as a jack-o'-lantern searching for keys to escape a cemetery while being hunted by other jack-o'-lanterns. They're always lurking nearby, but can only be seen in the darkness. They track you primarily by following your light, but they can also hear you stepping on branches and use those sounds to track you down. This creates a direct connection to the theme "It Only Comes Out at Night."

Unfortunately, I've been dealing with some ongoing health issues that have made it difficult to stay as dedicated as I used to be. Even so, it was still a great experience, and I'm glad I got to be a part of it.

Take care your health. Iβm glad you could still be part of the jam, and I hope things get easier for you soon. Wishing you well, and happy to have crossed paths here! Itβs our first jam too. If you have a moment, weβd really appreciate your honest feedback and a rating on A Borrowed Shadow. Glad to meet other first-time jammers! Thanks ahead!
The cemetery at night felt properly tense, with my jack-o-lantern moving through the dark and other pumpkins lurking with glowing eyes at the edges. Toggling the pumpkin light with F made the risk feel real, since light helps you see but also gives you away. My constructive note is that the first key was hard to spot in the dark, so a faint glint on keys would help players learn the search loop.
The gameplay is simple, but I found some of the mechanics a little confusing at first. It took one death to understand how the enemies and lighting worked. The game is quite dark, and the background music felt a bit loud. Keeping the lights on attracts enemies, which is an interesting mechanic. However, the overall experience felt quite short, as I managed to complete the game after just one death in around a minute. Overall, it's a pretty good game!
Fun game it took me a few try's. The light mechanic was fun to use. Good job with your entry.
Great game prototype. Graphics and light were pretty awesome. This game has potential. Right away I was wondering is the pumpking light going to end at somepoint. This can really come pretty solid puzzle game if you take it to right direction.
Could you check the fullscreen settings? The game is displayed in a small window with no fullscreen option, and most of the view is cut off.
