The lake and lanterns have such a lovely, cozy feel! I tried fishing at Lantern Dock, though some reeling instructions overlapped in my small browser window. A little more spacing would help. If you get a chance, we’d love your honest thoughts on A Borrowed Shadow too!

I don’t play many first-person horror games, but I enjoyed trying this one! A Halloween delivery job is a great setup for trouble. Congrats on your first jam! It’s ours too, and we’d love your honest thoughts on A Borrowed Shadow if you get a chance.

I tried the opening tutorial and appreciated the blue beacon and distance hints! I struggled a little to spot the flashlight in the darkness, so a brighter outline around pickup items might help. If you get a chance, we’d love your honest thoughts on A Borrowed Shadow too. Good luck with the jam!

Take care your health.  I’m glad you could still be part of the jam, and I hope things get easier for you soon. Wishing you well, and happy to have crossed paths here! It’s our first jam too. If you have a moment, we’d really appreciate your honest feedback and a rating on A Borrowed Shadow. Glad to meet other first-time jammers! Thanks ahead!

Ryan, thank you for playing through to the ending and writing such a thoughtful review. We replayed and tweaked the game constantly during the jam, so honest feedback from a fresh pair of eyes means a lot. ❥

We’re a small bunch of game enthusiasts who could probably keep polishing forever! We had more ideas than time, and there are still things we’d love to improve. Your controller suggestion gives us something useful to discuss.

Hearing that the mechanic and story came together for you is really encouraging. Glad we crossed paths through this jam, and thanks again for giving our first entry so much care!

I like the cafe and mystery combination! I struggled a little with the amount of reading, though that might just be me. A few more interactive moments between conversations could be nice. If you happen to try A Borrowed Shadow, we’d really appreciate your advice too. We’re still learning with our first jam!

Collecting pumpkins on a night drive is a fun idea! I felt a bit dizzy while playing, so an option to reduce camera movement would help. Good luck with the jam!

I love the trick-or-treat concept, and the sound effects are great! I got stuck right at the beginning after clicking past the instructions too quickly. A way to reopen them or a small reminder of what to do next would really help.

I tried your game and found the concept really interesting! A few more instructions and screenshots on this page would help new players understand what to expect and get started.

I feel like the game needs way to speed it up. If it was at higher pace it would be more fun. the art of the character looks good.  i could not hear any audio, i am not sure if there is something i am missing or the game does not have audio.   The game probably needs more connection to Halloween theme, as is when the game loads up you have no idea it is related.  The gam run well with no frame issues on my old PC.

Hey kkcn, the sound design was the highlight for me! A little more guidance during the hunt could help players find their feet. Interesting idea mixing boar hunting with horror.

If you get a chance to try A Borrowed Shadow, we’d love your honest feedback and a rating. It’s our first jam, so we’re keen to learn. Good luck!

The gameplay is simple, but I found some of the mechanics a little confusing at first. It took one death to understand how the enemies and lighting worked. The game is quite dark, and the background music felt a bit loud. Keeping the lights on attracts enemies, which is an interesting mechanic. However, the overall experience felt quite short, as I managed to complete the game after just one death in around a minute. Overall, it's a pretty good game!

Turning everyday objects into shadow monsters is a clever take on the theme. The banana becoming the cat’s tail is a lovely touch!

I just played your game! I really love the concept of fishing for spirits and uncovering their stories. Such a creative idea! 🎣👻

One thing I was wondering — if I cast the fishing line in the wrong spot, am I supposed to just wait, or is there a way to reel it back in and try again? I wasn't quite sure what to do at that point.

Really interesting concept overall. Great work! 😊
