Hey Everyone!
I've been debating whether to make a post like this for a while, but I figured I'd put myself out there and see what happens.
I've always loved video games, and for as long as I can remember, I've had this dream of making them for a living. Not necessarily building the next massive studio or creating a million-dollar hit, but simply being able to spend my days doing something I genuinely enjoy.
I have a career outside of game development, a family, and all the usual responsibilities that come with life. But whenever I find the time, usually late at night, I'm working on games. It's something I genuinely love doing, and I'd like to see how far I can take it.
A Little About Me and What I've Built
I'm primarily a programmer and systems-focused developer. I've spent a lot of time working in both Unity and Roblox, building gameplay mechanics, combat systems, progression systems, loot systems, and other features.
Over time, I've accumulated a collection of projects. Some are early prototypes, while others have progressed much further, with substantial gameplay systems already implemented.
Most of my recent projects have leaned toward system-heavy games with long-term progression, loot, grinding, and replayability. I enjoy creating mechanics that give players meaningful goals and reasons to keep coming back.
That said, I'm not married to any particular genre. I play everything from RPGs and strategy games to action games and plenty of things in between. For me, the most important thing is that whatever we're making is interesting, fun, and something we're excited to work on.
If you'd like to see some of what I've been building, here are a couple of early gameplay showcases:
Recent Development Gameplay:
- Relic Bound — First-Person Physics-Based Puzzle/Extraction Game (Unity)
- Untitled Tower Defense RPG — Class-Based Tower Defense (Roblox)
These are works in progress with placeholder visuals, but they should give you an idea of the kinds of systems and gameplay I've been working on.
Where I Keep Getting Stuck
I love programming. I can spend hours solving a complicated problem, designing systems, or figuring out how to make a mechanic work the way I envisioned it.
But almost every project eventually reaches the same point.
I need artwork, 3D models, textures, animations, sound, UI, or some other creative skill that isn't my strong suit.
I've spent plenty of time trying to overcome those limitations myself, experimenting with procedural generation, different tools, and learning new workflows. But there's only so much one person can realistically do, especially while balancing a career and family.
And that's what got me thinking: maybe I don't need to do everything myself. Maybe there are other people out there who are in a similar situation, just with different strengths.
What Am I Looking For?
I'm not looking to hire people or recruit someone to simply work on my ideas. I'm looking for potential collaborators.
Maybe you're a 2D or 3D artist who loves creating characters or environments but doesn't know how to program. Maybe you're an animator, sound designer, UI designer, or another developer who's been working on projects of your own.
Or maybe you're just someone who enjoys making games and would love to have a few like-minded people to create things with.
I'd love to meet people who want to contribute creatively, share ideas, and have a real voice in what we're building.
I'm happy to revisit one of my existing projects, collaborate on someone else's idea, or start something entirely new together.
As for starting a team versus joining one, I'd probably feel most comfortable starting a small collaboration of my own, but I'm certainly not opposed to joining an existing team if the project and people feel like a good fit.
I'm much more interested in finding the right people than forcing a particular game or direction.
What About the Long Term?
I'd absolutely love to eventually find a small group of people who work well together, share similar goals, and see whether we can turn game development into something more.
Maybe we release a few smaller games. Maybe one of them finds an audience. Maybe someday we're fortunate enough to turn it into something we can actually make a living doing.
But I'm not looking to force any of that.
I'd rather start small, get to know people, create something we're proud of, and see where things naturally go.
I also want to be upfront that I'm not currently in a position to offer paid employment. This would initially be a hobby collaboration, and if we decided to pursue a commercial release, we'd discuss and agree on a fair arrangement before moving forward.
I'm realistic about the challenges of indie development. I know most games won't become financially successful, and I'm not promising anyone that they will.
But I also know I'd hate to look back years from now wondering what might have happened if I'd given this a real shot.
Let's Connect!
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
I'd be interested in learning what kinds of games you enjoy, what you love creating, and what sort of project would actually get you excited to work on it.
No pressure, no huge promises, and no expectation that we need to build the next million-dollar game.
Just a few people who love making games and want to see what they can create together.
Feel free to comment or send me a message. I'd be happy to share more of my work, and I'd love to see what you've been creating too!
