feels fast. But I think the anime speed lines are a little too strong. have you compared adding a little radial blur as well? IDK if it would be an improvement, but I kinda imagine it might

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing james! Yeah i got to revamp the speedlines, i agree. will try the blur!

I had fun figuring out how to get to the end of each level and liked how gradually it challenges you with more skills.
some feedback :

  1. need some sort of edge pulling so it's not so frustrating to land on a small platform
  2. you can exploit it by throwing sword at a nearby obstacle which makes you float infinitely
  3. replace main character voice with female voice
Developer(+1)

thank you for playing and good feedback!

Had a fantastic time with Velocity Noodle 3(d). Something I think I failed to say is I see zero reason why there's a portrait of the girl on the bottom left of the screen.

Developer

Glad to hear you liked it and thank you for the video!

haha, its just to show who you are, its the girl from the first velocity noodle i made a few years ago. will probably be replaced with a 3d model soon.

Game: Velocity nooDle

First Impressions: Why is there an anime girl on my screen? I like the movement. Especially sliding, The game should be all sliding and speed ups, in fact, no girl, she should be a car and it should be called f-zero. I’m pretty sure I broke a bunch of the levels and didn’t do it the way I’m supposed to and you better not change that.

Afterthoughts:

I did the air dash level without air dashing because I didn’t read lol. Will there be a story or more to this game? Right now, it's a good proof of concept and it was pretty fun, I beat all the levels.I can see it getting old if it’s just a bunch of short challenge levels, if there were a story or some other kind of action (shooting) maybe it would be good, or if the levels were really big.

Things that didn’t work the way I thought they would:

I was hoping there would be more straightforward running segments so I can do fun stuff, like the sliding.

Developer

Thank you for playing :) nooDIe

haha the character is from the first Velocity noodle, the idea is that you deliver noodles, not really much of a story.

Glad you liked the movement, when you saying more straightforward running segments, do you mean levels like the "surf" levels where you can slide or just straights with small obstacles?

yeah , I looove those levels in games. There's usually little or no challenge to them, and if the whole game is that it looses depth, but for a few moments here and there it's great to have.

Short vers review with video

Personal Engagement 7/10
I don't like speedrunners games but I liked that the game didn't punished being sloppy
I feelt the game kinda slow but I'm again I don't like speedrunning
The hud is weird, maybe the girl s too big?
Ideadev: Eating Noodles could be a fun minigame to master while speedrunning (a double game)
Tried to play normally but found out the katana exploit was quite fun. you might have to consider a cooldown

Developer

Thank you for the video and playing <3

Yeah i got to fix that, never thought of it myself.

I like the eating noodle mini game, any more ideas on how that could work?

FPS sequel to Velocity Noodle.

Heavy WIP. Has 16 levels and some bonuses. Everything is WIP, especially hud and graphics, i dont really care about feedback for that specifically unless its functional feedback.

I want to know if it's fun.

Controls:

  • WASD = Move
  • Space = jump, double jump
  • Shift = air dash
  • C= slide
  • L click = throw sword into orbs to teleport
  • Jump into walls at an angle to wallrun

There's no tutorials but hopefully the levels teach you as you go.

Also has multiplayer if you want to host servers.
