Design Statement
We interpreted the theme track as a feeling of openness, exploration, and creativity. Its rich layers suggested a world that is constantly changing, where different elements can come together through resonance and harmony.

For Relic Loom, we translated that feeling into floating islands, forgotten ruins, and a gentle pace that gives players room to explore. The central mechanic is collecting scattered objects and arranging them into living creatures. We liked the idea that a feather, a seedpod, or a broken object could gain new meaning through its relationship with other pieces—much like individual sounds coming together in music.

We also wanted creation to leave a visible mark on the world. As players bring their creatures to life, flowers bloom and the islands begin to awaken. These changes reflect the evolving, layered feeling we heard in the track. For us, harmony meant making something meaningful from different fragments, while resonance meant allowing that creation to affect the world around it.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
To launch on Windows, download and fully extract the ZIP file, then open the game’s .exe. Keep the extracted files together. No installation or Godot editor is required. Choose English or 中文 on the title screen, then hold E until the bubble fills to begin.

Use a keyboard and mouse:

WASD / Arrow keys: Move.

E near a stone altar: Open the workbench.

Enter / Space: Advance dialogue when prompted.

Left-click and drag: Move materials from the inventory onto the stone canvas, or reposition placed pieces.

Mouse wheel over the canvas / Q and E: Rotate a selected piece.

Drag a piece back to the inventory: Return it.

Ctrl + Z / Ctrl + Shift + Z: Undo / redo.

Ctrl + S: Open the artwork export panel.

Esc: Cancel a drag or close the export panel.

Explore the islands with your robot companion, who automatically collects nearby materials. At each altar, arrange your discoveries around the creature’s skeletal blueprint. Each main bone must touch at least one material before you can submit. Red-highlighted pieces are disconnected; connect them to the skeleton or to an already attached piece.

Click Explore to gather more materials—your unfinished collage stays in place during the current session. When ready, click Submit and watch your creation come alive.

Did your project use any AI tools or assets? If yes, please specify.
We used OpenAI Codex to help generate and revise game code, implement UI, debug, and run tests. OpenAI image-generation tools were used to create and iterate on visual assets, including environment art and UI elements. AI also assisted with English store-page and submission text. The team provided creative direction, selected assets, and made the final design decisions.
