it affects the dialog between certain characters and some characters thank you for killing him while some run away from you and you get more power if you do.

well he didn't exactly join. its more like they said you are gonna have a bomb in your head and if you don't les us use you youll die.

yeah true. i honestly think that most of their recruits are forced to join or die.
