Thanks so much for playing and for the detailed feedback! I’m really glad the atmosphere, shotgun, and destructible environments landed for you.

The readability feedback is especially useful. I want the combat to feel chaotic, but not at the cost of losing track of your character or being unable to read the environment.

One quick question, if you remember: was losing track of your character mainly a problem during crowded fights, or did they also blend into the scenery when things were quieter?

Your description of the Golden Dragon death is helpful too. I’ll keep it in mind when looking at readability and difficulty together.

And noted on the whiskey—apparently the cocktail system needs a taste police mechanic. :P

Thanks again for giving it a go!

I played for around 15 minutes on Easy difficulty, using a browser on PC.

Two things made a good first impression: the art style and overall visual identity, and the introductory tutorial. The achievements were also a nice addition.

Browser performance on my PC was a drawback, though, and it affected the experience.

My main gameplay concern was that the experience started to feel repetitive fairly quickly. During this session, I didn’t find enough variety to keep the existing mechanics interesting. I don’t necessarily mean that the game needs more complicated strategy—new variables, options, or situations that change how you approach the game could also help.

I didn’t have any major issues with the mechanics I encountered. For me, the limitation was less about how those mechanics worked and more about the lack of variety around them.

Overall, I liked the presentation and the introduction, but I would have liked more variation as the session progressed. Since this was a short session on Easy, I can’t say whether that changes later or on higher difficulties.

I found the premise interesting, and the atmosphere worked reasonably well for me.

The instructions made it clear what I needed to do, so understanding the basic process wasn’t the main issue. However, the experience felt more like an extended tutorial than an activity I could become absorbed in. I understood the steps, but didn’t feel there was much beyond following them.

During my session, the gameplay also felt repetitive. I didn’t encounter new challenges or elements that noticeably changed how I approached the task, so once I understood the process, I didn’t feel much incentive to keep repeating it.

For me, the main opportunity would be to give the player more to think about after learning the basics—not necessarily through greater difficulty, but through situations that require different decisions rather than repeating the same procedure.

There’s an interesting foundation here; I’d be curious to see how it develops beyond teaching the lock operation.

Looking for first-time playtests of RUSTY NAIL. Please try the browser build for 10–15 minutes. You do not need to finish the demo. I'm especially interested in:
• Where you first felt confused.
• What happened during your last death.
• What you expected your first cocktail to do.
• What made you continue playing or stop.
Please mention your platform and the version you played.
Feedback in the comments is welcome. Thank you!

Thank you! I’m happy the drink-mixing mechanic stood out to you. Appreciate the support on the update!

Hi everyone! I'm a solo dev and I just put out a big update for Rusty Nail, a fast top-down brawler set in a bar. ▶ Play free in your browser: https://0absurd-games0.itch.io/rusty-nail (also on Windows and Android) One night, three floors: the bar, the back alley kitchen, the garage. Die and the night starts over (about 15–25 minutes a run). Anything that isn't nailed down can be thrown, red drums explode, stools shatter, and the mess stays where it fell. Between floors you step behind the counter at LAST CALL and mix your own drink. There's no menu: • The spirit decides WHEN it fires: whiskey on a wall slam, tequila on a dash... • The mixer decides WHAT happens: soda explodes, chili burns, ice freezes. • The right two in one glass react: fire + explosion = NAPALM. • Push it too far and you get side effects for the rest of the run, plus a drunk meter that ends in BLACKOUT. Also in the game: • Regulars who each fight differently: a bouncer with a door for a shield, a firebug, packs of hounds, a sniper, a berserker... • Weapons from a frying pan (it bounces bullets back) to a nail gun, plus parts you can fit at the Workbench. They show up on the weapon. • Finishers staged in the room: the deep fryer, the window, the pool table. • HEAT modifiers if it's too easy, and a small Halloween event until Nov 2. Free, no ads, no payments. Mouse + keyboard in the browser; touch controls on Android. I'd love feedback: what felt unfair, what got boring, and the most cursed drink you made 🍸

Thanks for your support!

As the first game, it was good. Keep going.

Thanks for taking the time to check out the game. Regarding the ending, I should mention that you could have taken the sign and put it back on the bathroom door.

Thanks again!

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time. I'm sorry about the bug—I'll try to make sure these issues don't happen in the next game.

I'll definitely do it, but first, I want you to explain the reason for your remark and clarify your criticism.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thanks for trying out the game and sharing your feedback with us! You are totally right about 'park' instead of 'garden.' I’ll definitely try to fix that. Thanks for taking the time, talk soon!
