I reviewed your submission, but I will need your GDevelop Forum account (or email if you don't have one) for further communication.

Thanks for reading! Twardy 2.0 is made in GDevelop, not Unity. Do you have a GDevelop Forum account? Also, I have noticed that you haven't filled out the Google Form yet.

What is Twardy 2.0?

Twardy 2.0 is a top-down, pixel-art soulslike with a massive scope. The White Being has chose you to destroy the world before it destroys itself by reaching High Emissary, the ex-ruler of the Mainmap. There will be 8 endings, 147 bosses and 97 areas for you to explore and discover secrets along your journey. There will be many friends and foes to meet who will explain the deep and tragic stories of this world, from the Spider civil war to the retirement of High Emissary.

Why Collab?

For the past year, I have been the only developer, designer, and tester and have been actively developing the game. Due to the massive scope of the game and the amount of jobs I am juggling, I need your help if I want to give this game its full potential.

Roles Needed

Though I will still remain the Lead Designer, composer, and artist, there are a plethora of roles that I need people for.

Most roles can have more than 1 member.

Management

Assoc. Task Manager (MAX 1)

The Associate Task Manager helps me organize tasks and decide what to do next.

Development Team

Level Developer (MAX 3)

The Level Developer implements the area layouts into the game. They also create cutscenes.

Boss Developer (MAX 3)

The Boss Developer implements bosses into the game.

Tools Developer (MAX 2)

The Tools Developer creates debugging tools, GDevelop extensions, and automation for the game.

Systems Developer (MAX 2)

The Systems Developer implements mechanics (e.g. Abilities & Equipment) into the game.

UI Developer (MAX 1)

The UI Developer implements menus, HUD, inventory, and achievements into the game.

Asset Integrator (MAX 1)

The Asset Integrator imports assets and non-boss animation.

Documentation Team

Design Document Manager (MAX 2)

The Design Document Manager keeps the GDD updated.

Wiki Manager (MAX 4)

The Wiki Manager keeps the wiki up to date and occasionally releases teasers on the wiki.

Update: I now only use GDevelop Forum for communication.

Hello, everyone!

I would love to see more flexibility with the release date settings on project pages. Currently, we are locked into specific date formats, but many games in development need vaguer timelines.

It would be incredibly helpful if Itch added the following release date options:

  • Year only (e.g., "Coming 2027")
  • Month and year only (e.g., "October 2026")
  • TBD / To Be Determined

This would help developers manage player expectations accurately without forcing them to set an exact calendar day before they are ready.

Do GDevelop extensions count as tools in this Jam? I have 10 extensions that I haven't released yet.

Update: if you join now, you get to design a boss for the game!

How did you make this in GDevelop?

This could be useful in chapter 3...

How about do thing, get money, spend thing to get decoration(s), decorations give skill points, spend skill points to do thing better, and repeat? Also, if you add achievements, you could get players to play for 30 minutes at a time.

Since there was only 1 submission, the winner of the contest is:

  • Twardy 2.0 Art by Goat Shaped Chair

You can find out what will be added in the Twardy 2.0 Devlog later this (or next) month!

The game is good, but there is one problem: the game is a little to slow.

Good concept, but there's one problem: you can very quickly gain more crumbs than you can spend. Otherwise, this is a good first project.

Are you still looking for a project? (I can give you a special playtest version of my game). Here's the link to the itch page with the latest stable version: https://99-studios.itch.io/twardy2. It is a survival game with an (upcoming) soul-like aspect. (Please note that I am currently working on a major update for the game, which will overhaul most of the game's code).

I actually have a section in the game's community for bug-reporting, but no one has posted there. Here's a link to it: /board/5404574/bug-reporting

Join now and get design a boss for the game!

Hello,

I am currently making a pixel-art soulslike game called Twardy 2.0, and I will need a lot of playtesters for my upcoming major update that will overhaul the entire game.

Requirements

  • Need to be able to use GDevelop Forum  (GDevelop's forum) for communication
  • There are unlimited spots

Rewards

  • Access to special playtest builds of the game
  • Your name in the credits (if you want).
  • A CHARACTER or BOSS based after YOU added in-game

As a playtester, you will get access to special playtest builds of the game, and your name in the credits (if you want). To playtest, you will just need to be able to use GDevelop Forum, for that is where I publish the playtester builds. To get access to the builds, you will have to give me your GDevelop Forum username (or email), and I can add you to the group. You won't get paid, because you are volunteering ;). Also, you can be a playtester for as long (or as short) as you want. I do not have discord, so you will have to message my email

its99studios@gmail.com

There are unlimited spots (because the more the better), and I will probably be working on this game for the rest of my life, you don't need to worry if I stopped working on the game (if you are reading this in the future!).

Here are some screenshots of the game (from various versions):

Thank you for reading.

Also, do you have a .zip file I could download?

Cool!  (I like the Mimic Rcok and Bell Wizards (which could be used in an upcoming area... (HMM Chapter 4)

The top three winners are:

  • Apple mimic spider by InSpecterSpook
  • pumpkin by tulipifera
  • Forest background asset pack by Ordinary Bird Art

This could be useful...

You were supposed to submit pixel art, not just a game.

Promising...

Twardy 2.0 is a sandbox-survival game made in GDevelop. You are Mark, a survivor of a great incident. Your goal is to save the Mainmap, or just plant seeds. Your choice. Itch Page

Yes, it is pronounced "ass-pire". The word is a play on Aspire.

IDK. I thought spelling it as "Aspire" wouldn't clearly show how you're supposed to pronounce it.
