Hello!
It looks like you did submit to the quest jam just fine. You're asking in the wrong jam thread- this is the community tab for the "RPG Developer Bakin 2026" jam (which I am also hosting), and if you're looking for submissions here, you won't find one since you submitted to the HeroQuest 2026 jam.
I will let you know that you submitted an hqb file -- that jam requires its entries to be pdf files, so please submit the pdf asap (you can resubmit anytime during the submission period, but not after).
Good question!
the language of the jam page should imply the objective is to create a quest following the restrictions therein; it is meant to be taken as "do this at this point" rather than retroactive.
For my game jams I usually specify that work must be previously unpublished, so I will add that to the rules next year to be more explicit.
I have added a prize to this year's pool.
I am pleased to announce the addition of:
-Craig Leslie's QuestExpansion quest book, "The Empire's Last Gleaming"
this had a limited physical run from its author, and I was graciously gifted a copy some years back for review.
It is this copy I shall now pass on to the winner.
Onward!
Execllent questions!
1. As long as you are describing exactly what is going into the room and where, and what is being taken away, these types of changes are fine, as long as you have room in your quest notes - the clarity of this explanation and how many steps it takes may affect accessibility rating.
2. Iconography is limited to the game system and chosen expansion, and letters/numbers (native icons in HQuestBuilder); to avoid bending the rule about only one expansion, I would use one of these unused letter/numbers or place a quest notes by the affected door.
3. If the assets needed can be covered by the First Light box, then First Light should be the game system version chosen.
Before finalizing the jam page, I forgot to take inventory and see if FL was actually missing anything present in the Game System. I actually need to simplify this language on the jam page.
(Edit: fixed typos)
I am thrilled to share the RPG in a Box MONSTERS Jam has 40 participants!
The jam submission phase is now LIVE, with 26 days left to submit.
(I historically provide looong submission windows like this to help those busy working adults who need the flexibility. Also, it helps folks submit early and wash their hands of their project, or submit early then resubmit revisions before the submission date closes, so the newest version will be the one judged).
I would like to share also that I am accepting volunteers for judges. As host I am also judging, but having the nuance of more perspectives greatly helps.
If anyone is interested in being a judge for this jam, even if you have no prior experience, just DM me or comment here and I can give you a rundown of what would be expected and how the judgement phase is facilitated. :)
It has begun!
Submissions have quietly opened. Now, participants have 30 days to start (if you haven't already) or finish -- concept, craft, build, polish or otherwise publish their submissions!
If you get done early, you can submit anytime this month. Then sit back and enjoy a lemonade knowing you've fulfilled a grand purpose.
If you haven't even started yet, remember this jam is very inclusive of casual, WIP projects - cobble something together if you so desire, just get something submitted!
After submissions begins the JUDGEMENT PHASE, during which submissions cannot be edited in any way (the pages will be locked). Be mindful of that, as any bug-fixes or better versions of games you submit can't be published until judgement phase is over.
I wanted to say also that, with currently 37 participants, it's very possible that the judgement phase ill have to be extended - there's no telling until the submissions are all in, though. Judgement progress will be shared in this space!
Thank you to everyone who has joined, I can't wait to see your works!

SGB games judged! Total of six qualifying entries, winner to be announced in a video at the end of the week, at which point results will be made public. :]
An SGB Revival event was very rewarding, and everyone really gor into the spirit of pushing themselves - with lots of examples of the engine itself being pushed farther than I've seen in past jams! Congrats to all the participants!
thank you for playing my submission!!
I am quite flattered it reminded you of ST. Playing with the graphics was an early rewarding experience for me.
there is an enemy in the outside area through the sword door which chases and attacks; it won't end the game but I initially planned to have the rosario protect you from this and other same type enemies. It isn't needed in the current build ^_^
In my plight against ai slop used by physical game creators, I wanted to spotlight this and the rest of your wonderful tools here, showing how easy and intuitive and powerful they are and just hoping I can spread creations like this so talented minds can know they are never limited to slop to make their dreams - and dungeons - come true
Thank you for your hard work in this area and I'm looking very much forward to making works of my own with many of your tools :]
your profile said you were 18 before you edited it.
You said you had a 12 year old kid and are claiming it was the kid who spammed.
If you claimed to play my game and were caught in a lie, that's something to learn from if you choose.
But following it up with another untruthful statement warrants some frustration.
It isn't right for folks to be swearing and attacking, if that is actually happening.
I would just advise not to spam other creators, we (or at least I) honestly get excited when folks play our games and often want to know how their experience went, commenting just to get traction is unhelpful (not to mention unfair if you get folks legitimately playing your game because they thought you played theirs).
Either way, I apologize for coming off harsh, and hope you have gotten some good feedback on your game, and wish you best of luck in the jam.
