Gorgeous character, the story's scope was very effective for what it set to do. The staging and text effects were great too. At some point, I hid the textbox to admire the art and it was funny how the sprite stops just below it XD
Also so much bonus content in the art gallery! It was a delight to look at.
You could really feel the despair and oppressiveness sink in as the story progressed and the options dwindled day by day.

The pixel art backgrounds were gorgeous, oftentimes I wished I could hide the textbox to admire them more. The little details of the textbox changing for each character were really nice, as were all the different masks that the villagers wore and the gradual reveal of the lore and monsters. The choices felt pretty intuitive when it came to collecting the items and the moral choices associated with them, so I easily reached the endings I wanted ^^
Only thing was the lack of a skip button when replaying the story for more endings T.T
All in all, interesting lore and very cohesive artstyle, this entry felt very complete!
I went in blind without looking at the summary beyond 10-15 mins playtime (bless short games) and I had so much fun! The dialogues felt natural and the banter was funny (I must be babe XD). Gotta love a woman in STEM *nod nod*
Also all the text effects and color changes were really cool and added something to the story. The handwritten note was also a nice touch with the little snarky comments and the foreshadowing XD Really a lot of personality to this game, from the script to the art and animation.
Thank you, I am glad you liked it! The team and especially the composer will be very happy to hear it ^^
You can relisten to all the game's soundtracks here: https://ravagesravagesravages.bandcamp.com/album/the-muzeum-original-soundtrack
The song that receptionist sings is actually from a traditional French nursery rhyme which lyrics got translated into English, keeping the meaning while trying to keep the rhymes.
If you look at the English Wikipedia page, you'll see that the meaning behind the lyrics is quite fitting to what's going on in the story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Il_%C3%A9tait_un_petit_navire
On the French Wikipedia you can also listen to the sung version of the song at the top right: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Il_%C3%A9tait_un_petit_navire
It also gives more information as to the origin of that song, notably the real story of Owen Coffin who went through what the song describes...(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Coffin).
I've known this song ever since I was young but always felt uneasy about the lyrics... So this game was the perfect opportunity to use it XD
Whoaaa the art is so cute! Thank you so much T.T I've been wanting to write a short spin-off about Curator too, to develop more about some things that were left as subtext in the script... But I shouldn't, must finish my other projects first 💀 One day, when I have more time... I'll draw some more art for this 🌝
RIP take care of your wallet too T.T
Thank you so much aaah, it's always heartwarming to see people enjoying the game ಥ‿ಥ
And yes, museums are so interesting! Nature can be both beautiful and terrifying. I visited the museum of a veterinary school a few years back, and still remember to this day the skinned preserved bodies and the intestines of a cow afflicted by cowpox that occupied a whole wall, the size was impressive (not pretty to see though).
You can look at the walkthrough in the devlog section at the bottom of the page if you get stuck getting an ending.
If you ever commission something, I'd love to see what you get too! Also here's the curator's artist link if you ever want to commission them ^^: https://www.instagram.com/_gnor_/
Thank you jnsa for checking it out! Also congrats, I see the team you were in submitted their entry too ^^
The "chinese opera singing" in the credits is actually the Exorcist's VA bloopers from when he was warming up his voice before recording his lines, that could have been a whole track in itself XD But it was too funny not to keep it in XD
Hi, you can look at the walkthrough here to get this ending: https://arghbulous.itch.io/the-muzeum/devlog/1069574/walkthrough-for-all-endings
Some things to pay attention to:
- answer correctly to the quiz
- get esteem points from the curator (follow section 4 of the walkthrough. The gist is don't pry, be thankful and interested in the exhibition, ask for more infos on things he shows you, show thirst for knowledge)
- flee & grab his hand
- agree on worldviews
- follow ending 8 section for the rest of the choices.
Good luck!
Thank you for playing! Yes I noticed it happened for the browser version, which is the version you played on I guess (because of a style rule that makes text bigger on mobile probably, that's why it messed up with the bubbles sizing).
Haha yes I coded a ripple shader especially for this 😂
I saw you made a siren game too! Put it in my bookmarks yesterday 👀
I FELT YOUR LOVE, I FELT IT 😭
Thank you for sacrificing your voice for this, loved your impressions of fake maid and exorcist, future VA talent right there 😂
My bad I didn't have time to update the endings screen to reflect that (had to get the scope knife out for this)
But in the future I'll update it with the rest of the planned endings, so please look forward to it 😁
Congrats for getting it!!! I'm glad that it made you laugh! That's the magic of scrolling itch, you never know what you find XD
There's actually a walkthrough but now it's buried beneath all the other devlogs: https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-e...
Dear no.1 fan, thank you for liking and following this game for so long aaah
I plan to release longer version for Gufeng game jam this summer (it's a new yearly jam featuring Chinese historical fantasy games, so if you like games like this, it's worth checking this jam too later on)!
Also there will be the O2A2 2026 jam around the corner too this July, where I might or might not make a spin-off in the same universe (with another char, but that's still simmering in my mind for now).
Thank you for your patience and dedication 🙈
Hi Morg, here’s a few more clues to get ending 3, hope it helps ^^
