Ayre Battles: Heritage Academy — First Public Alpha Release
Today I released the first public playable build of Ayre Battles: Heritage Academy.
Ayre Battles is an anime-inspired strategy card battler that combines deckbuilding, range management, reactions, combo chains, and a unique Junction system that allows players to create powerful techniques by combining seals during battle.
The game has been in active development for months and recently reached a point where I felt comfortable putting it in front of real players.
Current Features
• 4 playable Leaders
• Unique leader identities and deck strategies
• Dynamic reaction-based combat
• Range system (Close / Mid / Long)
• Junction creation system
• CPU opponent support
• Original card art and visual effects
• Downloadable Windows build
The game is still in active development, and I'm looking for feedback on:
• Combat flow
• UI readability
• Card clarity
• Leader balance
• Junction mechanics
• Overall fun factor
Some of the most recent updates included leader deck previews, status effect tooltips, improved AI behavior, reaction-flow improvements, and expanded character-specific mechanics.
If you're interested in anime card games, strategy games, or helping shape an indie project during development, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

its been a while fam. been so busy with life and development. got a little money and i decided to outsource some help for the creation of the game. i need to package that build and release it. in fact ill try to do that tonight. it has a lot of quality of life changes that'll make running the game on most PCs very likely. that optimization pass i was talking about lol yeah its finally done.
ik it's been almost a month since my last update. I hate to admit it but i ran into a deep snag after uploading the previous build. For some reason i havent been able to get Heritage Academy to open after i updated VS (Visual Studios) It took me exactly since the previous upload till today to fix it properly. Hooray! sadly i wasn't able to update the project to unreal 5.5 to use these very specific assets. So we're back to 5.3. For anyone thinking about updating your project to a new version of the engine really consider it before you pull that trigger.
Sorry for the delay. The grind continues.
Its been a while since I've had time to sit down and get back to work for you guys! but man I'm happy. Just finished up that art test, finished what i believe to be my second to last vacation of the year. So I'm ready to turn up the heat! I wanna update the game Bi-weekly moving forward. So expect the next update Sep-16th.
(This is not sponsored) But if you wanna play online now without wait. Use Parsec https://parsec.app/ a very stable p2p gaming connection app, makes long distance gameplay feel like couch play. Use this link for best settings, adjusting these will reduce lag for almost all games played through parsec. https://www.alphr.com/how-to-play-with-friends-in-parsec/
If your using an PS controllers. consider using DS4 to sync ur controllers https://ds4-windows.com/ you an use this for most (xbox )games that arent PS ready.
Sorry for the delay for the next build of the game. its my goal to release a update bi weekly. Recently, i've joined on to a project (an art test) that requires a lot more of my time than expected. The art test is almost finished with once done I'll put back my attention back to the updates of HASOW. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
