This is persistent error I've been unable to bugfix because it only occurs if you haven't been able to open the game before (I can't make it happen myself to see what's wrong)

Is it possible to go into the game folder and find either log.txt, traceback.txt, or errors.txt file? If so, that might be able to tell me what the error is. It used to be a failure with the function to check for updates, but that's no longer in LL_1 so it shouldn't be that.

Sorry about all of this. It seems to be an error that doesn't occur if you've successfully opened the game before so I can't test it myself

Are you a mac user? You shouldn't need to download both for either to work (they run independently) but there seems to be a bug where it keeps closing that I can't track down

For reference, is that LL_1, LL_2, or both? There's a bug at the moment preventing some users from opening the game and I'm trying to fix it

Hiya! I've randomly chosen two OCs and Destiny was chosen for August's wife cameo! If that's alright, just a few things to clarify:

• The cameo takes place 20 years in the future. How old do you think she'd be/look, especially if she's half-fairy.
• How tall is she?

You can download an Android emulator (like Bluestacks) and play it using the Android .apk as a workaround

The only other solutions I can think of would be to check the methods in this GitHub thread

• Move the game to a different folder to make sure it isn't a path failure
• Hold shift while clicking on the .exe to change the graphics 
• Check any anti-virus or .exe permissions
• Use command prompt to check the .exe directly

That was a niche conflict between a shader code and certain android phones. I've fixed it now. Thanks for catching that

Does going into the AppData folder also give you no log/persistent files?

e.g. C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\RenPy

If there's an LL folder there, maybe try deleting the contents

• Hold shift when starting the game. This will bring up the graphics menu and you can choose a different renderer
• Move the game location
• Delete the persistent data. Go to %appdata%/Renpy/ and delete the game folder
• Check the log.txt, traceback.txt, or errors.txt files in the Game folder. (If there's a specific issue here, please let me know)
• Run the game in compatibility mode

Hm alright that's the second person with that issue. Something must be bugged. I'll see what I can do

"The OC can be whatever design you like (any gender, race, species, etc.). It can be an original drawing, a picrew, a written description, moodboard, etc. The only thing I won't accept is AI-generated images."

So it's (dw I assume you've done these steps)

1. Download the game

2. Find the game in your downloads


3. Extract your game (you're here)


4. Open using the .exe file


Then if things are working properly, it should then pop up with this loading screen. This might take a little bit of time?


If it never loads, did you get an error message? If so, could you show it to me? If not, I'm not sure what could have happened. Is it v5.2?

Thats a beautiful OC! Though Saerys isn't going to have a family in the story, so would you still want her to be in the running? It's just August or Reiner

There are no limits on race, gender, or species :D It's going to be a small insert anyway so feel free to be creative

Edit: as of v5.2, it'll let you know when an update is released when you open the app or you look at the episodes pages

You can check for updates on this itch page. The main page should say:

"The game is currently 900k+ words, with 7 routes updated with 5 seasons (averaging ~27k a season with 12 episodes per season). 1 route is complete" at the top
and
"This game is still in development. Currently each route has 5 seasons released (out of 5 - 9 total). Alain's route is fully released." at the bottom, next to the download links.

It's important to note that the game itself cannot update automatically or tell you about updates so you can find updates on this itch page. Sorry for the confusion.
