Hi! Thanks for posting. Can you please email me: beagleguy1212@yahoo.com

Hi! Thanks for offering! I'm definitely open to Vietnamese localization, but for this first update I'm focusing on the languages already listed in the post.

I may expand into additional languages afterward, so I'd be happy to keep you in mind when I get to that point. Thanks again for reaching out! Please email me so we can connect in the future: beagleguy1212@yahoo.com

Hi all,

I'm a solo dev. My game Streetlight Syndicate is an idler/incremental game set in Prohibition-era New York. You start with one speakeasy and work up to running 20 rackets, each with an owner who's got their own voice and backstory. It came out on Steam back in July. I'd like to get it into more languages.

I'm looking for localizations for the store page (<200 words), the in-game text (~8500 words), and the Steam achievements (<300 words). Total ~9000 words.

Update (August 28): Thank you for all the responses! Translators have now been selected for all languages.

Languages I'm after:

  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Polish
  • Turkish
  • Russian
  • Ukrainian

The game:

  • Idle/incremental, but with an actual story running through it
  • PC, Steam
  • 1920s gangster tone, fairly dry, minimal humor

Every line has a note on it saying what it means:

You shouldn't need to sit there guessing what something is or where it shows up. For example, a button that says BOOST has a note saying it's a power-up that makes your gun fire faster for 15 seconds. There's a string that reads "NOT {amount}" where NOT is short for Notoriety, not the English word "not", which I'm pretty sure would have tripped someone up. Dialogue lines tell you who's talking and what their racket actually is. Slang gets explained where it's not obvious (beat cop, hooch, etc). Anything that has to fit in a small box tells you how many characters it gets.

What I can offer:

  • Steam key for the full game
  • Credit in the game, and on the store page if you want it
  • It's already out, so it's a real shipped thing for a portfolio

How it works:

It's one Google Sheet. You fill in your language's column. Rows that need to stay in English (character names, gun models) are locked so you don't accidentally spend time on them. And feel free to ask me stuff. I'd much rather answer a question than get a guess.

If you're interested, please reply here or email me at beagleguy1212@yahoo.com. Let me know which language and whether you're native or fluent. Previous experience is great but honestly not needed.

One ask: please don't run it through machine translation. The whole point of the notes is that this needs someone who can hear the period voice, and MT flattens the personality.  It's the reason I'm asking for humans rather than just running it through DeepL myself.

Thanks!

I used this bundle for my 1920s prohibition mafia incremental game and the music is getting tons of compliments. The noir atmosphere is exactly what the game needed - really nails that speakeasy vibe.

Thanks for putting this together. If you want to check it out: https://beagleguy.itch.io/streetlight-syndicate

Appreciate the quality work!
