It's probably because the Auto Buildings Selection option is enabled.
You can change it in Settings.

Oh, since I had to rush a bit to get the demo ready, the city expansion may feel somewhat limited.
In the full release, players will be able to reclaim land from the river and expand their city across the islands through upgrades, eventually transforming it into a sprawling metropolis.
As for the boats... to be honest, I originally added them mostly for visual flavor, and I haven't fully decided what role they'll play yet.

Yes, I'll make it so player can toggle building auto-select on or off at any time directly from the Settings, without waiting for the popup!

You can toggle it on and off with the button in the red box.
I should add an animation to make it stand out more.

Oh, I mixed two different art asset packs for this project:
