any plans to polish this one after the jam?

*self back pat received!

Our artist had limited time. in fact once I wrapped up the music and the voice acting I helped with some of the drawing (i.e. the game cover art and the ending cutscene). the Willow button was low on my list so we opted to not worry about it. we definitely picked our battles on this one.
I scrapped ideas like the clock breaking, and some buttons flying off the control board and you gotta put them back. all sorts of stuff. I only mentioned half my ideas to the team. good thing too... cause... scope creep would've gotten us into trouble. lol

very silly use of "countdown"
after reading the other comments I see that "other vampire" games were made but I haven't seen them. this is probably the first or second I think? oh well. it's fresh for me!

I completely agree with you.
After submitting and testing a little more 10 minutes felt more and more like a slog. I respect that you were bold enough to offer feedback and I accept the criticism with open arms!

Afterall... if you're right you're right.
Thank you for playing and for enjoying it so much in spite of it's flaws! :D

Congratulations on submitting a game!
One thing I wanted was to know why this vampire needed to go down into the dungeon. the motivation allows the player to connect with the art a little deeper when you know the intentions behind the characters.

other than that everything worked great!

I'm glad I got a review from a game developer named "Frog Squad Games"... it's an honor. thank you for playing!

best use of the theme. tightest controls. super simple. no need to explain... the game does it itself. congratulations on an EXCELLENT job well done! I love the flip he does when you jump from hanging on a ledge. feels so natural. great work, animator

Of all the games my daughter has seen me play this was the only one where she specifically said, "that looks like fun! I want to try!"

I'm so happy to hear that! thank you for playing!

Playing Walker (radio guy) was a blast. (odd, fun fact: I had a dry erase marker in my mouth as I was doing the voices.)
If i were to expand the story, I'd want the $ goal to be bigger and Walker would inevitably pay Steve's hospital bills instead of saving the business... and he'd have just enough left over to have one more show. (justifying a 2nd level)

If this proof of concept goes over well I'd like for the timer to be a visible clock and it would inevitably break as well.
but then again... I could probably improve more as a designer if I moved onto the next idea.

Captures the theme so well. Excellent work! I actually got lost in the game and could see this becoming a larger concept. Let me know if you want voice acting or music. ;)

but that didn't become clear until day 3 so I left it alone. I had a separate page of notes for what to add if people liked this concept. :)

Thank you! The clock was subject to be broken if we had another week. I wanted everything to eventually break and needing to be fixed mid-launch.

thank you! I improvised for like 20 minutes and picked my favorite moment.

Thank you for playing! :D

thank you! that tear did a lot of heavy lifting. lo

thank you! :D

The issue of it being too easy was brought up, for sure!

AH! I agree with you. There's a layer of the game we didn't get to add. You in particular might have liked those features. In addition to keeping time, I wanted to have 10 seconds to flip safety switches and all sorts of "protocol" buttons before the ignition could take place. for the jam I wanted a single safety switch, and if people like the proof of concept add a bunch of other things that kept breaking right at the last second.

and then the economy is way too generous. and not as many opportunities to be punishing.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the honest feedback!! always appreciated.

ah! that's a great idea.
our economy is connected to the audience size so maybe if a request fails a firework launches into the crowd.

the menu options falling off the table cracked me up. very silly.
solid game. needs stronger music to match the tone of the game, but other than that it's absolutely perfect and one of my favorite entries so far. excellent work!!!

Thank you!!! :D
I have a few ideas to polish the narrative a little more, but we'll see how voting turns out.

Thank you! It makes me happy when people enjoy my v/a work!

animation was tight and responsive. great work!

really satisfying game loop. great work!
one of the more clever uses of the theme I've seen so far.

great tunes, great gameplay, solid game. thank you for making it!

that was my favorite bit, too. Thank you for playing! :)

you're too kind. thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed the ending. :)
thanks for playing!

Thanks!

Thank you!
He's definitely doing better every day. ;)

really appreciate that, thank you.

Thanks buddy! :D
(done in The Boss's voice. his name is "Walker" btw)

Thank you so much! :D
if you do please let me know if you have any additional feedback.

The western charm fits "countdown" so perfectly. great job, buddy!
I'm still trying to get to the end.

thank you so much!!! I knew there were gonna be a bunch of "press at zero" games... so I opted to put more narrative around it.
if we end up 'finishing' the game I want the goal to be higher, and to include the reason to also be to cover Steve's medical bills.  lol

I'm really glad you enjoyed the ending. :)

super tight, satisfying play. i found myself shouting "YESS!!!" whenever I had strokes left over.

Thanks, Doomz!

Quintessential Game Jam game! Solid work ma dudes

Keys and larger swarms of baddies to make the game harder.
Starting to feel like a top-down techno-Doom game. :D

Solid story and excellent use of BOTH criteria. felt really natural. :)

thank you! :)
