sorry for the late reply I want to say it was battle. But I think it was more then just one way. might have been others as well such as random events
as an update to the bug it happened a few times where I would get an artifact it would give me two of them it would stick around for a round then go back to one
I got the racoon in a bag looking icon and when I clicked it, it gave me two of them kind of juiced and most probably a glitch
