I've noticed something interesting with indie games: sometimes a game doesn't immediately click with me, but I come back to it later and suddenly end up enjoying it much more.
For me, this usually happens when the game has one interesting mechanic that I keep thinking about after I stop playing. Even if the first session wasn't perfect, that one idea makes me curious enough to return.
Other times, it's an update, a new feature, or simply understanding the game's mechanics better.
So I'm curious about other players and developers:
What usually makes you give a game a second chance after your first play session?
Is it the gameplay, a unique mechanic, updates, recommendations from someone else, or something completely different?
I'd love to hear examples of games that you initially stopped playing but later came back to.
I've noticed that a lot of games can be fun when you first start playing them, but only a few actually keep me interested for weeks or months.
For me, good gameplay mechanics are probably the biggest factor. I also like games that give me different ways to approach a challenge instead of making every level feel exactly the same.
