Congrats on beating our game and saving the timeline ! That suggestion is 100% fair and has been pointed out by a lot of comments, we'll do a few updates in the next couple days, to improve on that point mainly but also to add a few elements and polish points that we didn't have time to include the first time around.
The controls should have been in, if not a tutorial, just an UI element with the WASD and spell inputs would have helped a lot of people have a much better time ! Unfortunately we ran out of time as our latest version was uploaded merely 10 minutes before the end of the Jam and we had already cut a lot out at that point D:
Thanks for playing our game, I do want to let you know there's been reports of the web version having little to no sound effects/music for some, so if you ever felt like downloading the windows version I'd suggest trying it ! (although there's a chance you did get the intended experience in which case your comment is noted)
It seems my comment from yesterday got deleted for reasons unknown, I'll try to summarize it:
Very fun concept, I'm impressed you managed to make those graphics run in the web player. Are some elements voxel based ? Either way they looked really cool.
The game got very chaotic and overwhelming really fast but that was part of its charm; I did tryhard for a while and managed to score around 45 in my best attempt, once you get familiar with the ball travel time it gets easier to score 3 pointers again and again (don't pay attention to my actual high score on the leaderboard I might or might not have tinkered with your API and cheated it sorry :O).
Congrats on participating, one of the cooler entries out there for sure !
The chronocide's a prick, he only cares about destroying time he has no respect for his employees :(
Yeah the progress bar at the top is how many tiles you have yet to progress forward to reach the boss (starting at 100 when the boss spawns), congrats on going so far ! The 4th stage is the last and hardest one, the boss throws spells or enemies at you for every move you make at that point on top of having all of your spells locked out :)
This has a lot of potential ! I wish there was some guidance around the map because things were hard to find from time to time, also on another note perhaps some variation to the sound effects and/or more music, I was really happy hearing some Kevin Macleod in the elevator and I wondered why the game went mostly silent afterwards.
That being said, very good work; keep it up !
This is very interesting, I love meta games like this, I would have liked it if there were less empty floors but that's mostly it. You got some great postfx going on this takes the very simple aesthetics to another level. I wonder what game this was about ? Did you really publish a game on steam ? If so I'd love to hear about it !
This was so fun ! I struggled for a few attempts because I did not understand that I could click the revolver to execute someone, once I got it the game made a lot of sense.
This was a really creative mix between Clue and Minesweeper and the artstyle was really cool ! Definitely one of my favorite entries for this jam; keep it up !
Great concept, great visuals, I managed to beat the final level without losing once !
I do have a few suggestions; the sound effects need some work, the loud crashing sound and that beep are destroying my ears even after lowering the sounds by a lot. The game is too easy and strategy is not rewarding enough, it felt like it was mostly about spamming upgrades fast enough most of the time. Also the camera makes it hard to select some buildings when they're surrounded by taller buildings sometimes, and some other times the game would select other buildings through the UI when I tried to upgrade them.
Aside from those points, this is very neat and I'd love to see more of it !
I could recognize Sebastian Lague's controller anywhere, always makes me happy to see :)
This is a great idea, using the countdown as a physical obstacle is really smart and well implemented, my main critique would be that the blue levers look the same despite them doing vastly different things which got me stuck for a while as I assumed they would all pause/unpause time since it was the first I discovered, once I figured it out it was smooth sailing though! I did get tricked by the timer going to 100 and making me lose (although it makes perfect sense in retrospective).
Otherwise it's very clean, great level design and very enjoyable puzzles; good job !
Omg we considering doing a game about fixing a rocket before launch, this is very cute, I managed to beat the hard mode with 4:31 left !
As a heads up you should have uploaded your files as a single compressed file, makes it easier to play, I did figure out I have to put the executable next to the assets but I shouldn't have to do that; most people won't go through the hassle and hence won't play your game :(
I would have really liked some sound effects alongside the music that would have elevated the experience.
Another note would be the UI, it is a bit clunky to figure out where to click and then the button to close the mini games is way too discreet.
Keep up the good work, I had fun and that's the most important part.
I don't know if I'm an idiot but I got stuck in the second room, my guess is it's some form of morse code based on the items and the seats but I couldn't make it make sense, there are 6 rows of 6 seats, each morse code number requires 5 data points (short or long), and the code is only 4 digits, I wish I could have gone further but I ran out of time :(
I would have liked some sounds that would really have elevated the experience but for a first game this is great.
Neat idea though, an escape game for that theme fits perfectly and the game was more than playable !
Edit: I am an idiot, figured it out, made it to the end; very cool game keep it up !
