Update: By mashing dialogue forward, I managed to get to day 2 blindly. Resetting the game then allowed me to reload and start at day 2, after which there were no further issues. So at least the game can be finished, albeit missing the visuals for the last part of day 1. It seems likely that the issues are graphical and stem from the unique animation style in day 1. 

There's a bug in Rehydrated that causes the game to mostly freeze at a certain point; the dialogue keeps playing, but eventually I can't progress further. This is consistently happening on day 1 right after the pot starts to break. I'm play on a Mac via Crossover, however, so this may be an issue on my end.
