Great cover! The map is decent, a bit mislabeled, but that’s an easy fix once judging has ended.

Now, GODDAMN those spells are powerful! Love the science-fantasy set up, and the plot hooks for getting PCs involved. I need one of those Time Thieving Blades, myself!

Hell yeah, DURF!

The map is wonderful, and I really enjoyed everything about the Verdant Fire’s effects. Why separate that killer cover from the rest of the zine?

Love it! The monochrome color is perfect for this, and the layout was very clean.

Great encounters, and very refreshing to see a Tunnel Goons hack- definitely the only one I’ve seen this jam so far. Excellent work!

Great use of public domain art, alongside the simple & effective pointcrawl map. Really loved just how many encounters were packed in here, and how varied they all were.

But the real stroke of genius was connecting this to The Yaksha’s Sigil! I can’t believe I haven’t seen anyone else pull this off yet- so clever!

Excellent work, super clean layout, and beautiful writing throughout!

I loved how each ring ramped up the stakes somehow ever higher, and that there was still a small chance of hope for 1 or 2 Hunters, despite the destruction of the whole world in the basin.

Really liked that the Realm of the Dead was a mirror image of modern post-industrialization- that slaps!

The map is great & the colors are fantastic! The only thing I would’ve liked to have seen more of is more ways for the dancers to be attacked/fail.

Thank you! I think you might be the 1st person to shout out Aduwn, who I thought was an interesting encounter

Phenomenal job! Pretty sure you could run an entire mini campaign set in this zine alone!

Wonderful art that made me chuckle more than once, and fantastically usable maps as well. I love this!

Maps & art are great. Incredibly economical use of space- from the varied hexes, to the plethora of bestiary entries. Loved the faction play here too, felt very much alive! Fantastic work!

Thank you! Should’ve had them Yeet the bird chimes lol

Thank you kindly! MB is phenomenal, and I hope you get a chance to play it soon!

Trust, I’m fixing that text the same day judging ends lol. Can’t believe the fix was so easy- alas…

I LOVE these NPCs! Absolutely absurd, delightful, and hilarious!

The hand-drawn map is very charming, and I really liked the public domain art used as well. And you did really well with the karmic, anti-authoritarian theme, too!

Love the art here- the colors, the public domain stuff, but particularly the 2 maps!

Great work all around; highly lethal, but with enough valuable loot to make it worth the price of admission.

This absolutely rules! Total finalist contender material, from the beautiful map art to the layout!

Genuinely, if this were an actual written novel, everyone in the OSR would know of it, and half would say it’s part of their favorite series.

Hell yeah! 🤘

Love everything in here; the art, the layout, the Playbooks, the writing, the anti-corporatist messaging- all phenomenally well-done! I also think this may be the 1st PbtA entry I’ve read so far this jam

Man, I really need to get me some of that Weird Tales art- that shit is fire!

Really liked how much spot art you squeezed into this, as well as the texture & feel of an old thrift store find. My favorite part, though, was the bleak ending that could definitely serve as a hook for Matea’s redemptive sequel. Great stuff!

Loved the art, the writing was superb, and the enemies were really inventive!

Would definitely run this one, but I wish all the locations had been numbered, not just the last two

Killer visuals, vibes, design, and layout that is still somehow outshone by the incredible writing!

Such a cool location, and an absolutely harrowing, brutal trek downwards.

Rated this based on the preview images on the itch page, since there was no module download link available for some reason.

Probably could’ve used another editing pass, but it was totally understandable throughout. Big fan of the design & roll tables in here, as well as the NPCs. I’ll definitely be adding this tower to my next sandbox’s random locations tables!

The art is solid, and I really enjoyed the theme/story! Extraordinarily high-level loot that actually requires some hard work & survivability to obtain is always nice to see! I do think the columns could’ve been more legible, but everything else was super clean.

Hell yeah! Please let me know if/when it pops up!

What system are you using for S&S?

Thank you so much! I had originally tried to have 12 Omens, but 2 ended up on the cutting room floor. I don’t think it harmed the overall module, but man, I wish I could’ve matched MB fully & done A4 instead of A5.

I mean, I could’ve not done a cover, but that’s the most fun part imo!

Thank you so much!

An absolute BANGER! I don’t even play Shadowdark, and I wanna run this ASAP.

Great map, the art is phenomenal, stayed on theme, with a phenomenally serpentine color palette. This one oozes flavor, and you managed to slither so much gameable content into such a small space. Awesome job!

Thank you very much!

I hadn’t thought of this as an introductory one-shot, but I can definitely see that working for players who may want a darker themed game. Would love to hear about anyone using it that way!

Great art, map, & layout!

Really enjoyed the tragic backstory of unintended consequences from good intentions gone wrong! Very lethal to the careless, and can definitely be used to link to wider stories, like finding Zolo

Beautiful cover, art, map, & layout!

Really liked that the Eldritch elements weren’t exactly hidden, but still required exploration of the part of the PCs to actually be revealed. It’s a shame the Knight & Wolf couldn’t be saved, but the story is better for that

Really appreciated, and best of luck to you with your journey learning Affinity, too!

I am itching to fix that text ASAP, but rules are rules lol. I think Raval the Fox was my favorite too.

Thank you so much! I think the centipede Omen was the first one I wrote for this, before I had even finalized the masks idea- I just knew it belonged lol

Thank you! I was worried that the hexmap being asymmetric would be a real turn-off for folks, but thankfully that doesn’t seem to be the case!

Thanks so much!

Hope you didn’t come down too harshly on it, but I promise that text issue is getting fixed as soon as judging ends lol

Big fan of the pot-of-stew approach here, where you took every cool sounding thing & mashed it all together into one module lol

The art kicks ass, I like that the Vampire Hunter boss has ulterior motives, and I can easily see myself running this in a single session with almost no extra prep needed

Very picturesque visuals that contrast nicely with the horrific cult activity going on there! The Cult Activities table is a really good entry point for the PCs & I really enjoyed the intelligent monster faction play.

Thank you so much! I had that same romantic image of the Knights in my head as I writing it, so I am very happy to hear that it shone through in my efforts

Excellent typography & (lack of) color choices! Really sells that desolate, salt-encrusted, science-fantasy vibe.

Even with the small amount provided here, the lore is so intriguing that I can easily imagine this as an expanded setting

Holy HELL! The sheer amount of usable, gameable, interesting, & flavorful content crammed into so small a space is staggeringly impressive. Much like the Amber Queen herself, you may be a master of spatial manipulation as well!

The aesthetic throughout was incredibly strong & visually coherent. Writing’s great and I want to run this module as soon as humanly possible. I can easily see this being a finalist contender.

You know I’ll be there!

If folks don’t know, Sprigs & Kindling is a free fan zine (just nominated for multiple Ennies), and a wonderful community all on its own

OH MY GOD!

This was my very 1st time using Affinity software- I had no idea that was there 😭 I thought it was just an issue of the font size being slightly smaller.

Thank you for pointing this out. When the rating period ends I am fixing that IMMEDIATELY!

Love how closely your layout hewn to the original Mythic Bastionland book, while still maintaining a unique sense of science-fantasy style! Big fan of the Redactors as well, and that you didn’t try to over-explain who they are or where they come from.

As a sucker for tarot mechanics in TTRPGs, I’ll definitely try running some of the Eightfold Oracle’s alternate timeline selves in my next MB campaign!

Lovely art- so sparse, yet each grimace & color choice says a ton!

Huge fan of the idea of the Knives being disposable grunts in a much larger turf war amongst the gangs. Feeds that low-level, unwelcoming, seedy city vibe so well.
