Hi everyone! We're Crooked Bear Games, a small team from Portugal. Doctor's Appointment is our short first-person anomaly horror game (if you liked Exit 8 you'll feel at home): you're stuck in a waiting room that keeps repeating, and you have to spot what's wrong before you pick a door.

Today we released version 1.5, with something we've wanted to try since launch: a free online mode for three players.

The doctor's hand of cards over the clinic's CCTV feed

One of you plays Dr. Halbach. You watch the clinic through the CCTV cameras and, before every room, you get a hand of cards and choose what will be wrong. Or nothing at all. Some cards you can keep hidden and switch on the moment they look away.

The other two are journalists. Martha holds ticket number 10, Edward has a camcorder. They have to find the anomaly and walk through the same door together. There's voice chat, and the doctor can hear them through the cameras, so good luck whispering a plan.

Martha holds ticket number 10 up to Edward

Three rounds, so everyone gets a turn as the doctor. You can use quick match, share a room code with friends, or practice against a computer doctor first. It's free on Windows, macOS and Linux, and the single-player game is still all there.

It's an open beta and it has never been played by this many people at once, so if you try it with two friends we'd really like to hear what broke, what felt unfair, and which card got the biggest scream.

Thank you Derek, and thanks for the rating too! It really helps a small game like ours get seen on itch. So glad you had fun. The ticket is a sneaky one, it’s easy to forget you’re holding it, and finding all seven pages on your first run is no small thing. Loved the video (the chair counting especially). See you on TikTok!

Hello Day!! Thank you so much for your feedback. We saw your video and we loved your reactions! :) You really got the story bits right and very fast. Big hug from Portugal

Hi everyone!

We're Crooked Bear Games, a small team from Portugal, and this is our first game.

Doctor's Appointment

You wake up in the waiting room of the Halbach Clinic with ticket number 10 in your hand. Every door takes you back to the same room. If something is wrong, leave through the EXIT. If everything is normal, go into the EXAM ROOM. Get it right and the display counts down. Get it wrong and you're back at 10.

There are more than 60 anomalies. Some are loud, some you'll walk past three times, and a few only show up after you look away. If you pay attention there's also a story in that room, and more than one way it can end.

It's free (name your own price) on Windows, Mac and Linux, with English and Portuguese.

We're still updating it with what players tell us, so we'd love to know: what room did you get to, and which anomaly got you?

Thank youuu! Just try one day to make one. It can be a simple idea. This is our first project and as expected it can have bugs, not be good, nor mega profesional but is work and that counts for something. Like everything in life, we learn by doing. So I believe in you and just do something. Listen to the feedback and improve on the next. Results will come naturally. :)

Hello Bara,

Thank you for the in depth feedback. Indeed we have a pool of easy, medium and hard to spot anomalies. We created this so failing could be interesting cause if you fail the more opportunity you have to uncover the story bits. So dont feel sad or demotivated to give it another try someday. Let me give you some tips so you can enjoy the game. 1. The ticket on the right mouse click can be an anomalie. 2. from room 5 onwards the atmosphere changes, that's not an anomalie. 3. Only the bell sound can be an anomalie. 4. Pay attention to all objects in the room plus chairs like the notes point out. 5. the inside reception area is not an anomalie nor have any, so you dont need to be counting the books or if the PC moved hahah. This is it, the rest is an experience. I understand it can be frustrating but quit and try other day. Its rewarding when you put the story together and win. Thank you once again for playing, downloading and giving us your feedback. Its very valuable. Big hug from Portugal

Hello Bara. So so sorry to hear that. Please accept our apologies for that experience. Could you explain us or share what happened in detail so we can improve or help you? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Thank you so much for playing Doctor’s Appointment and for recording the full walkthrough! 🙏 It’s really cool to watch a player go through the anomalies, and knowing the tension landed means a lot. I’ve shared your video on our socials too. Thanks for the support, and see you in the next one!

Muito obrigado meu amigo!!! Ficamos muito muito felizes por teres gostado! Fica tranquilo que vamos partilhar consigo assim que sair novas versões! Grande abraço de Portugal!

Hello Stark!! Thank you so so much for your feedback and for downloading our game! We're watching your video right now and we're loving your reactions! Thank you for commenting your video link, we love to see our players reactions. Please if you could leave a rate on the itch.io page that would help us a lot to reach more people :)

Hahha it's not indeed. The idea is truly to experience the character situation and let the story bits talk for it self. We're so happy you enjoy it joao!

Thank youuu Fylex and Thank you for recommending our game! We're currently developing another project. We'll let you know once we have an early playable version

HAHAHAH That's so nice to hear! We're glad you liked it. If you woulçd like to see something added to the game or have any bug to report please feel free to reach out. :) Happy halloween
