i don't know why "formulaic" has negative connotations, especially when a formula that works is used competently like here: a nice ~10 room dungeon with faction play, a mystery, an emergent quest. map is nice (as expected from Dyson Logos) and vertical, adding novelty and depth to the adventure (not sorry for the pun). bonus points for introducing people like me to a new system.

thank you! btw, was it clear that you could turn post-it notes on/off?

an excellent old-school module, and the author's nerdness for mesapotamia shines through. one complaint i could have: palace map is too small to read and could benefit from a compass rose, but i know too well the page limits, so it is what it is.

so many good ideas: shifting corridors, two phased spiders, interesting magic loot. (just not a fan of "chaos = evil" approach, but mainly because it's been the default assumption in d&d and i enjoy subverting that expectation)

yeah, in this case spell scrolls were a good way to give players both a set of tools they can use to plan their heist around, and a reason to steal something other than their primary target. i imagined a scene like: "ok, we need x-ray vision for this, so let's first spread out and find where it is."

(oh... i just realized that players have no reason to know there are scrolls in the halls. maybe we'll update the adventure once the rating is done)

thank you! yeah maybe we could've been clearer but didn't want to drown the adventure in sticky notes.

"steal a museum" sounds like a fun high-level heist!

Those Lawful architects are meticulous!

haha you're right, title was a head scratcher. the best we could do for the adventure was "Burglars of Purgatory"

since you've already paid for the module, you should be able to access the newly added versions. let me know if it's working as needed or not when you have the chance.

i’ll look into it

you don't! python stuff is only to help GMs randomly determine which spells to place where.

to get Warden/player handout versions, you only need to switch PDF layers on/off from your reader. do let me know if you have trouble with that.

thank you!

oof, i hoped itch would show the "Installation Instructions". without them reminding the reader about pdf layers, i can see why it can be a bit puzzling.

i think it's a great demonstration of Mythic Bastionland's strengths as a system

goddammit, it took me way too long to get the Pink Floyd reference

i appreciate how very DIY it is

like a fever dream, i had to force myself to stop reading it.

hey, i'm also a follower of "three is enough" school of thought for game design.

what's interesting is turns out we align more than that: i'm also currently working on a Cairn hack that makes players decide on stakes.

have fun designing!

worthy of calling "byzantine." reading this, i thought it'd be very fun in a first person video game, but maybe not so much in a TTRPG. also loved the

floor markings that resemble a series of lines gradually becoming shorter in a somewhat triangular pattern

hey, just wanted to let you know i used your "entering the dungeon" drawing as cover art (with some recoloring) of our pregen pack https://daelightstudios.itch.io/custom-pf2-pregens

thanks for your art!

art looks fire! good luck on your kickstarter
