Hello everyone!

I'm Marco, aka Dazorn, and this will be my first game jam ever. I'm an experienced software developer working mainly with C# on desktop and web (almost 10 years now), which means I'm used to tight deadlines and last-minute rushes.

About me

I've been a hobbyist game developer for two years, working with both Unity and Godot. I've never published anything: my projects were small games without ambitious mechanics behind them, built mostly to learn the engines. For about a year now I've also been studying pixel art seriously, going from my very first sprites as a complete beginner to what I'd call an advanced beginner, covering things like silhouette readability, some colour theory, shading, squash & stretch, subpixel movement and animation. You can find more of my work on my Bluesky profile, but here are a few recent pieces anyway.

Discord icons

Part of a set of icons made for a Discord server...

Random sprites

A mix of pieces I've made over the past year...

Characters template 32x32

A set of character templates for future projects (still a work in progress).

Retro-looking game icons

UI icons for three different weapons. In order: a hammer, a hook and a pair of scissors.

A tileset for a cozy, slice-of-life game.

 A retro-looking character 16x16.

A retro-looking dice enemy 16x16.

A retro-looking platformer's frog and fly.

I'm from Italy, so my timezone is CET/CEST (UTC+2), and I've taken time off work for the entire jam so I can be completely free for it (barring anything unexpected, obviously).

Something a bit more personal, just so you get to know me: I love listening to music (introspective rap especially), and I often end up hunting for game soundtracks that match the mood I'm working in. I also like to draw, even if I'm still a total noob at proportions and anatomy, but my will to learn is always stronger than my urge to do nothing. Lastly, I'm a bit of a sports addict, so you'll probably see me writing "going out for a run" or "off to the gym" during jam hours ;)

Oh, the games part, right, we're here to talk about games. I love a challenge (played the whole Souls series, Elden Ring included), grindy games (hello, fellow Monster Hunter fans) and anything retro-looking. I know there are still whole genre staples missing from my library, but I'll get to every one of them one day.

What I'm expecting

From this jam I expect to have a lot of fun (and some stress when needed) and to meet new people, since I enjoy what's nowadays called "networking". The aim is to build a game that's small in scope, fun, and as polished as possible. I'm not looking for a big team, but rather 2-3 people (4 max), each strong in one specific area of gamedev.

How to reach me

If you've read this far, chances are you're interested in me and my participation, so thanks for that! You can find me on Discord, username: dazorn. Or, if you'd rather leave your Discord username here (or any other way to get in touch), feel free to do so.

Anyway, good luck to everyone and have fun during the jam!

P.S.: I'm in touch with a friend of mine who could join the jam with me. He's another skilled developer (more experienced in gamedev than I am) who has done several jams in the past :)

2026/09/04 update:

Thank you guys, I've been able to form a team!

Hi Nuno, cool work! Where can I contact you?

Hi! Are you still free?
I'm mainly a developer, but I started learning pixel art consistently one year ago.
By your nickname I think we are both from Italy, so I would love to work with you.
Also, that's my first game jam :D
