Sorry about that. I’ve experimented with it a bit on my end. To maintain a 1px branch thickness, you can adjust the Branch Levels under the Adjustment tab and also adjust the Branch Length.
On my end, I got better results using 3 Branch Levels and 10 Branch Length. You can also experiment with the Branch Forks settings to get the shape you’re looking for. 😊
Hi! Thanks for purchasing the plugin!
- It doesn’t support other languages yet, but that’s a really good idea. I might add localization support in the next update.
- For the bamboo branches, you can adjust the Branch Length and Distribution under the Branches tab. You can also make further adjustments to the branches under the Adjustment tab.
I'm not really sure what you mean by that, but I'm assuming you mean something like this:
https://x.com/devkidd_/status/2060352173163356203?s=20
You can actually use Grass Mode for this and set the Cover Mode to "Edge." 😊
Hi huslu, thanks for using Live Brush! 🙏
Sorry you're running into this issue. From the screenshot, it looks like the popup is coming from the Magic Pencil extension. I'll check whether it's conflicting with Live Brush and see if I can reproduce the issue.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into it and see if I can find a fix. 🙂
Glad that helped! 😊
I'm not sure if it's a bug either, but I tried to reproduce it.
From what I can tell, it seems to happen when the wave direction is set to 0° and the scroll direction is left or right. Since the wave is also moving horizontally at 0°, the two motions may combine and make it look like it's drifting.
Could you show me your settings so I can try to match your setup?
Here are the combinations I tested:
0° wave + scroll right
0° wave + scroll up
90° wave + scroll right
That should help me figure out whether it's expected behavior or an actual bug.
Hi MadeKillaSam! I'm not completely sure what you mean, so I might be misunderstanding your use case.
If you're trying to scroll only a specific part of the image, you could:
- Put that section on its own layer, or
- Make a selection to control which region you want to scroll.
Oh wow! I honestly didn't expect someone to use a brush set with around 1000 tiles.
That actually explains the behavior you're seeing. The preview window is currently limited to around 50 brushes so it doesn't become too crowded, which is why not all of your tiles are being shown.
As for selecting a specific brush from the preview, that's not currently supported. The extension was originally designed around cycling through brushes with hotkeys rather than picking them directly from a preview window.
That said, I can definitely see how that would be useful for large tilesets like yours. I'll look into adding brush selection from the preview window in a future update, and possibly making the preview limit configurable or removing it altogether.
Thanks for the feedback! 🙏 This is actually a use case I hadn't considered before.
Hi cybebe! Thanks for picking it up 🙏
Just to clarify, you can't manually select a brush from a list or preview. Instead, you switch between brushes in the brush set using the assigned hotkey (Space + W).
The preview should appear after the brush set is created, so I'm curious how you created your brush set. Did you use:
- Grid Tiles (for tilesets)
- Separate Selections
- Selected Cels
Since you're using an 8x8 tileset, I'm guessing you're using the Grid Tiles method, but let me know your steps so I can try to reproduce the issue.
I also made a GIF demo showing the workflow in case it helps.

For reference, I'm using Live Brush v2.1.1 with Aseprite v1.3.16.1. Could you also let me know which version of Aseprite you're using?
Hi, Live Draw works a bit differently from normal drawing.
There are only two controls you need to remember:
- Play Animation (shortcut: 1) - starts the animation playback
- Start Drawing (shortcut: 2) - enables drawing on the canvas
Once drawing is enabled, simply move your mouse over the canvas to draw - no clicking needed.
Ahh I see what’s happening now, thanks for the video, that helped a lot!
The behavior you’re getting is actually expected based on your setup. The Create button only works when you have exactly 2 cels selected with no existing cels in between them. Its purpose is to generate new in-between frames from those two endpoints.
In your case, you’re selecting a range that already has cels in between, so Create won’t do anything there. That’s why Update works instead, because it’s designed to modify an already existing generated range.
So the correct workflow is:
- Use Create > when you only have 2 key cels (start and end, nothing in between)
- Use Update > when you already have existing cels and want to adjust them

I might improve this behavior or add a warning in a future update.
Hi khatri3d ! That’s actually not the expected behavior. The Create and Update buttons have different purposes:
- Create is meant to generate new in-between cels between the two selected cels
- Update is used to modify an already existing generated range
So ideally, Create should already work on the first click.
I’ve tested it on my end and it’s working correctly (Aseprite v1.3.16.1 with Tweencel v2.2.2), so this might be a version issue or something specific in your setup.

If you can, could you share a quick screenshot or short video of what you’re doing? That would really help me understand what’s going wrong and give you a proper fix.
Hey Kipperfalcon, thank you so much. I really appreciate it!! 😊 And yesss, that’s definitely possible. I actually designed them to be very compatible with each other. I’d love to see you experiment with that! That’s also how I personally use them, especially for quickly creating grass fields.
Hi quackandcheese, thank you for the suggestion! 😊 A presets feature is a great idea. I’ll definitely consider adding it in a future update.
Also, thanks for reporting the bug! I’ll look into it as I continue improving the extension.
Hi Golios, yes, that’s possible without changing the animation FPS 😊
The speed of the tween depends on how many frames you have between the two cels.
- More in-between frames = slower, smoother animation
- Fewer frames = faster animation
So you can control the speed by adjusting the number of frames used for the tween.
I’ve attached a quick demo GIF to show how it works

Hey ddcd, thanks for trying it out!
It should work with animated sprites 😊 Just make sure to click the ‘Update’ button when working with animations.
Also check that:
- You’ve selected a range of cels (or select the whole layer to include all frames)
- The first and last frames are properly set up, since those are used for the tweening
I’m currently using aseprite version 1.3.16.1 and it’s working on my end.
To better understand the issue, could you share what aseprite version you’re using and maybe a screenshot of your setup? I’ll be happy to help.
I’ve also attached a quick demo GIF so you can see it working.

Hi dannybaws, sorry, I just realized the effects don’t stack right now. It doesn’t apply the wave effect across existing animated frames. Instead, it takes the selected cel and generates a new animation from that.
I’ll work on adding support for stacking effects in the next update. Thanks for your patience!
Hi fatlipjohnson😊 Could you try restarting Aseprite after installing Parallixel? It should show up under Edit > FX > Parallixel once Aseprite reloads the extension.
You can also try clicking space+p. This is the hotkey for Parallixel.
Hi colourofsound, that’s actually a nice idea. Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll try adding that option 😊
For now, you can kind of achieve it by matching the distance and number of frames. For example, if your image is 128px wide, you can use 128 frames, then set the speed based on how many pixels you want it to move per frame.
Currently, the system auto-calculates the pixels per frame based on the speed, so it scrolls seamlessly.
Hi Pxalot! At the moment, the wave warp feature only works on a single frame image and generates the animation from that. It doesn’t yet support applying the effect across multiple existing frames in a layer, so it won’t follow something like a walking cycle.
As a workaround, you could try creating an aura that covers both legs (or the whole character), then apply the wave effect to that.
This is a really good idea though, I might consider adding support for this in a future update.
Also, my Reflecto plugin can create a wave/ripple effect on a selected layer and apply it across all frames. You might want to experiment with that, although it has limited control over the wave direction since it’s mainly designed for reflection effects.
Hi dannybaws, thanks for reaching out! Yes, this is actually possible.
What you need to do is generate the first effect normally. After that, select the first cel again, apply the second effect, and generate it.
I've made a simple example, is this the effect you're looking for? If not, could you share an example or the steps you tried so I can better understand what you mean?

Hi Teebor9, thanks a lot for the detailed feedback!
Regarding colored outlines and support for transparent leaf colors, I’ll be pushing an update right away.
For the “drawing the leaves” part, do you mean allowing the user to provide a small set of hand-drawn leaf shapes that the generator can reuse? I already have this planned for an upcoming update (custom leaves), and I’m currently experimenting with better ways to implement it, as well as improving leaf shading and styles.
Hi smaiderman, just a follow-up 🙂 Live Brush version 2.0.0 can now store created brush sets, with live previews and import/export support.
Feel free to check it out if you’re interested. Thanks!
Hi Tbage, if I understand correctly, you mean randomizing the brush image per spray particle so multiple brushes are sprayed at once. That’s something I’ve already thought about, but unfortunately it’s not possible right now due to Aseprite API limitations, the Spray Tool doesn’t expose enough control to modify particles individually. If the API improves in the future, I’d definitely love to add this. Thanks for the suggestion.
