I like where this is going! I got to the jam version a bit too late but I did get to rate it and I'm glad it did so well! I really can't wait until (if) it gets a full release. This little sort of demo/teaser/vertical slice was so fun to complete, now I had the time to devote.

Thoughtful puzzles, tricky even when you figure them out. Despite the ticking clock you have, and the stress that inspires, I'm amazed that it never feels punishing. Like I feel the pressure to run like mad when Im nearly out of sand, but I never died while being out of sand unless I approached the puzzle incorrectly. Which is wild!

I really hope this continues to develop! You've got a fan in me!

Really cute, really cool concept! I love the different classes and abilities! Was a little overwhelmed with all the effects and stuff but it's a really cool take on a Trick Taking game, where you have extra powers to keep it fresh! Really enjoyed this one! The polish on it is crazy for 4 days

This was so fun! I'm sad I didn't find this until so late, but I'll be adding it to play later to fully get through it all. I got about 4 or 5 statues filled with sand. Had a blast! Cool idea, made even cooler by the art and the feel of each stage of the hourglass. I could see this being a full metroid-style exploration game!

Thanks for the experience!

I've added this to play more later/after the jam cause I'm tight on time but I gave it a good go. And I LOVED it. Came for the DR/UT style art and stayed for the really cool and unique gameplay and narrative. I love the timer and trying to time your moves right in the special rooms - That gives Celeste vibes. Only these strawberries are useful! Loved the side rooms, loved the game, loved the concept

Thanks for the experience! Please take this further!

This was really neat to see! Encouraging and inspiring (with the depth and the time you had)! A really sweet story making a really nice experience overall! I love what you did with this limited art to elevate it by making everything follow the same sort of style and explaining the difference between the characters personalities alone with little tweaks to the same art blueprint. Idk if that makes sense but I really enjoyed it, it was sweet! :P Thanks for making it!

Charming game. Fun experience. Funny little story! A couple of typos but who cares! For some reason, when I pressed my left-shift it didn't pick up but right shift did. I was worried this would make controls awkward but it didn't really matter, I beat the game and didn't struggle. Nice take on the theme and, yeah, cute game!

Thanks for the experience!

It's a really nice idea and with the time you were given, it's well executed. I do think you've got a lot in here, which is commendable, but maybe it would have been better to narrow the scope to having only one character playable, give them good combat options beyond attack/heal/mana restore and you'd be good, when that's finished, to make the other characters IF there's time.

It would have been nice to have the squares highlighted that I can move to EVEN if theres a chest on them. It's a minor nitpick, cause obviously I was moving in a Knight pattern so it was kinda clear but I think having it clearer in a way to say "Hey, you can go on this special space too!" would be good.

All of this to say, I hope you continue to work on this because I really think it has legs! Could be a fantastic full game, I say!

Fun card game! I like that there's feedback on a card click but I wish it didn't shake like that only because it kept making me think I'd selected a wrong card cause it's got that sort of "incorrect" vibe to the shake (Unless they WERE wrong picks but I just didn't notice lol). However, the game itself is super fun! Tricky, and I like the upgrade options!

Cool game! Very deep for the time you had and it reminds me of a bunch of board games I love to play - but digital! So, even better! Adding this to my play after the jam cause this was quite addictive lol! Seemed straight forward enough, too, with the phases clearly listed and whatnot.

Thank you for playing!

Oh I love this! That you got such a solid rhythm game in the time is fantastic! Even with a team. And I just love how the narrative is being told purely without dialogue, yet it's easy to track and it's a cute sort of concept of this recurring partner character that's the same but in different eras, just as they both are.

Nice and simple, not punishing but also tricky! Replayable in that I wanna beat my combos for sure! Fantastic game!

Wow! There is a LOT there. Because of how much there is, it's hard to keep track. A tutorial or something may have been nice. I did read the description but there was a lot to remember and my brain leaked out while playing. HOWEVER, it was still super fun! It's funny, because even while I didn't know EXACTLY what to do at the start, I was having a blast throughout the confusion. The memes are great, had me chuckling, and the chaotic plate spinning was engaging!
Also, soundtrack is a bop!

Excellent game!

You're the first to LIKE the art! Haha! I call this style "I can't draw so hopefully if I draw memes and stuff, it'll distract people from the 9-year-old-in-mspaint vibes" So that's high praise!

Thanks for playing!

This was so fun! Like Wario Ware with a whimsical narrative and some really fun micro games! Love the idea that doing them gets you money to add time and each micro game was really smooth! To say there was so little time on this, the fact that each mini game works so well is impressive! Love how the chaos escalates! Just love this entry!

Thanks for the experience!

I love this! It's a simple idea but innovative. I love making digital card games with playing cards. The kind of thing that is simple enough you could play with a buddy or two, while also being fun to play in a digital setting. It took me far too long to realise that clicking the draw pile was what passed the turn, so that may be something to look into, but this was crazy fun to say how simple it is.

There's no like bonuses or special cards or anything, and that fits PERFECTLY. It doesn't need to be anything more than it is, because what it is works!

Thanks for the experience! :D

Fun game! Considering how much time we had I was impressed with how clear it was to play as well as how fun. That's a great balance! Perhaps there could be more UI indicators for things so you can plan ahead nicely, but I mean, given how much is in the game already and the time we had: This is amazing! Good game!

Not only a very fun, unique game. A very important public service announcement! This should be released to the citizens of, well, every city. Lest they forget.
Very fun! Charming and whimsical game that would be cool to see more of, but as it stands, solid!

Agreed! More Intel, tweaking the costs, that sort of thing could all help. My initial aim during Scoping was to have a game that would be 60%-ish to lose and 40 to win, but as I kept going, I figured people would just not want to play it over again etc. But because it was the core design, I'm pretty sure that shows!

Thanks for the feedback! appreicate it!

Some of the levels I wasn't super sure what to do. However, there were plenty of levels to try and at least you can choose which level you play! It was interesting, all the different ways to use the bombs, and it's a super fun game even without the polish! If you take it further, maybe make it clearer so that when you have clicked start, that button changes to "Place" or "try again" because sometimes (maybe just me) I was clicking bombs but it wasn't that phase, yet. Good game!

I really like how the narrative is dealt with in this game. As incremental as the genre suggests, I suppose! It's also really good how it made you feel like a corporate drone WITHOUT getting too boring. You get the upgrades, but you do have to work for them. It's a great little mix! Really solid game! Enjoyed it a lot!

Oh that's a good idea! About having the symbol's proximity to a correct symbol be a thing. Sort of like a minesweeper variant.

That's not what this game is but thats a really cool idea lol!

As for like UI feedback to WHERE you guessed what symbol, you're absolutely right! And I should've focused on that more because my memory is trash and even when I was playtesting I had to keep notes. I just thought I had more time (but whoops! Bugs!)

Thanks for the feedback! Thanks for playing :D

I had a tutorial and it was really bad. Like, I think it made it harder to understand 😅 but you're right. I think i should have gotten one of those rpg dialogue plugins people use and had it just sort of walk through what's going on but I didn't have time.

Better yet, if I just called it/described it as Wordle/Mastermind with Hints, it may have been easier to understand!

Glad you were able to beat it eventually! Thanks for the feedback!

I had a tutorial but it was trash so I removed it 😅 Thanks so much for the feedback though! I figure the best way to play as-is is with a notepad to jot down that stuff (but that's not how it would be in a final version)

Yeah! I figured since 100 symbols gave 9 billion different possibilities, it was probably best not to have a live timer 🤣Thanks for playing!

This was nice and cozy! I like the unique take on the theme mixed with a push your luck thing. At first, I didn't roll 1 for a while and so I thought, maan, this is easy! And then I kept rolling a 1 and realising how the game worked lol! So I restarted the run and actually read how to play (I'm tired to be fair). I love the art, the music + sound, and I hope you develop it more after the jam. I'd love to see where it could go.

As it stands, though, it's a great game and that die roll is very satisfying! I could just keep rolling, even without the rest of the game :P

That's so cool! I'm glad it was intentional and I really love that design, to be honest! Like you said it CAN get you more points, but not to the point where you can abuse it. Additionally, if you try just restart when you make a mistake it may not get you as much points either! I love that. Funny how, because I touch type so whenever I got a letter wrong, I had typed three or four before my muscle memory caught up with my brain!

Thanks a bunch :) I wanted it to be hard but I didn't want to make it like too hard but I'm not sure I gave myself time enough to tweak the knobs to get it just right (hint costs, days to start with, hint effects, etc)

This was a cute little game! Tricky but also with a lot of depth! Movement is fun and it's one of those games that doesn't feel super punishing when you die and, if you're as bad at platforming as me, you're gonna die. The timer changing the map is a really cool twist, too! Enjoyable game!

Hey this was really fun! I love the idea and it was executed well, too! It's great because even when you lose, it's easy to just get up back to play again. Would be cool if you ever decided to take this further! I could see a full game version of this with different Chasing Bots and different ways to decoy etc.

Fun game!

This was an absolute blast! I love how it uses your actual computer screen as a display and how chaotic it gets, but doesn't get annoying (like actual pop up ads). That race car one can drive off into the distance, though :P Super fun, love that you can do multiple minigames at once to make it not so punishing. Great game!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I fully agree! Also, I can't imagine what a nightmare you'd be having without the Intel actions! Bravo on the 630 points, though, that's wild! I guess I weighted the score for less-Intel-Actions highly :)

Wow! What a ride! That is probably the longest Countdown(tm) in this whole jam (that I've played so far, so not a large pool to choose from) but it was a really fun go!

It kinda seems like you've probably done a game jam before because the scope on this type of game seems open to having a good game, polished to the level you did it. Big fan of that, cause it allowed for a really cool narrative and the little clicky particle thingy, that was cute!

During this fight with a dragon, I was able to get a LOT of writing done that I hadn't been letting myself do while I rated games - so, thanks for that - getting clothes out the dryer, feeding my pets, playing with my pets, and working in Godot! I was thankful for the break and though I didn't have to beat the game, I felt I had to. With such a fun and charming intro, I just had to know how it ended.

Not disappointed!

Had a blast with this game! Thanks for the experience! :D

I like it a lot but the attack wind up, while fine, lead to some annoying situations. With the snakes you want to hit and then run, so you can get room to avoid their spit. But as soon as you click to hit and then turn and run, the hit misses cause the wind up makes the slash hit the other way that you're running.

That's not so bad for a punishing strong attack maybe. But in that case there should be a weak hit that's quick and deals less damage you can use as an option, instead of the heavy attack and sort of switch the attack based on what you think works on the enemy best.

That said, the concept is super cool and the game itself was enjoyable! I think you could make something really cool on this if you put more time into it after the jam! More bosses, more enemies, more attacks, that sort of thing! Good game!

I really enjoyed that! I got a high score of 3250 on ORAS mode! I touch type a lot but, of course, that does usually open myself up to a miss-press typo, so I was intrigued as to how well I'd do.

It seems like, when you make an error, and you get to the end of the list (like 25/25) it says it fails to defuse. Is that supposed to happen? Cause when I got every word right without fail it seemed to just say "You defused the bomb" no matter what. I couldn't tell why that was. Cause then the "0/X" goes up to a higher number and keeps the time. So you're better off just restarting the level and going for a perfect run than to keep going?

I may be missing something there, because I guess if you get one wrong, and then go to the "0/X+2" stage after it, you could technically earn more points maybe?

It could also be that it just sometimes doesn't defuse and sometimes does! Either way, it was a super unique and fun experience! Thanks for making it!

I love this! High concept game with a simple idea. You got each direction throwing some different challenge at you and pointing to something to help you overall. I really like that. I will say the key press sensitivity (if that's even a thing) is a bit high and sometimes it moved me two spots, and had me walk into my demise but at the same time I did like the speed of movement for when dashing along the screens to find the next thing to do. Overall, fun experience, great game! "VVVVV" vibes (I dont have a stutter) and fun humour!

Thanks for the experience!

Man, I only got up to the lights puzzle, the bit with "red" "yellow" "red" "yellow" and couldn't get passed it. So how come, despite me not getting very far, I had so much fun?
The answer shouldn't shock you: It's a great game. Cute sound, good voice acting, and everything about the presentation was just really cozy. I'm sure if I'd spent a bit longer on the lights, I'd have nailed it but for now I'm saving this to my play-again-after-jam when I have more time cause I wanna experience it all!

Thanks for the great game! I had a blast!

Interesting and creative concept, would love to see it fleshed out a lot more with some nice slice animations but as a vertical slice (pun intended) it's promising

(1 edit)

This was super cute and fun! Got a mega awesome polish, considering the time to make and the concept is fun! I think if you wanted to expand the game, you could manufacture difficulty simply by limiting the buttons that CAN be pressed. So, like for beginner level, the options are just "QWERT" and you beat that race and you go on from there to the full "QWERTYUIOP" until you've got the whole keyboard to master! That could be fun, to have a sort of campaign to it. However, as it is, it's super fun and a delight to play! Lighthearted playful vibes are a treat!

It's like the party game Twister, but for your fingers! (There's an accolade quote you can use in advertising the game if you make a full version :P)

The seeds of a really interesting idea! Worth working on further! I see you uploaded it a couple of hours before deadline so the bugs are understandable and, based on the game it can become, I'm a fan!

Each round, I was able to get at least a word, but it happened all too quick in the final moments. I guess it was really hard to get ALL words, but that's not really the game. Getting one word is all you need so it's not so bad for that. Graphics and sound and gameplay are amazing though! I love this game!

Maybe a little cliche and stuff but it'd be nice if between rounds you could get little power ups but, to be fair, not EVERY game has to have those rogue-like elements lol!

This was super fun and super unique! Great game!
