Hi everyone!

We're a small indie team working on Escape Ruin, a dark fantasy roguelike deckbuilder, and we're looking for people willing to play our free Steam demo and give us completely honest feedback.

This game has actually been through a pretty unusual development journey.

We released an earlier version after around two years of development, and it didn't go well. The criticism we received was harsh, but a lot of it was justified.

Instead of abandoning the project, we decided to rebuild almost the entire game.

Since then we've:

• Completely replaced our old traversal system with an open-world node system with limited steps
• Reworked and polished the combat
• Added quests, node events, optional encounters and ways to avoid enemies
• Added unlockable challenge-run options
• Doubled the amount of relics
• Reworked our cards and enemies
• Expanded our combat arenas from roughly 10 to around 80
• Massively expanded our meta-progression

Now we're at the point where we really need people outside of our team to play it.

We're not looking for people to tell us the game is good.

We want to know where it isn't.

We're especially interested in feedback about:

• Is the combat actually fun?
• Does the node-based exploration give you interesting choices?
• Is anything confusing when you first start playing?
• Does progression feel rewarding?
• Are there cards, relics or mechanics that feel useless or overpowered?
• Are encounters becoming repetitive?
• Is the difficulty fair?
• Where did you get bored, frustrated or want to stop playing?
• Any bugs or technical problems you encounter

Even if you only play for 20-30 minutes, that feedback is useful to us.
