Really cool concept! The graphics are coherent and feel polished.
A couple of things I noticed:

- The controls text could be a bit more concise or maybe tell the player the controls one by one while they're playing, but it is understandable given the time constraints.

- The health, ammo and rocket fuel meters could have an indicator or icon each, so it is easier to figure out.

- When the player dies, it goes straight back to the ship, without some kind of "game over" screen. So it was confusing the first time.

Despite those details, the game is really fun and it has a lot of potential!

Also, despite being a Windows executable, I managed to run it on Linux by adding the .exe to my steam library and forcing it to open with Proton Experimental :)

Congrats!!

Awesome concept! Really simple but fairly challenging, it's relaxing and trains your patience in a good way. Graphics are well used and UX is spot on! Congratulations!
It works well on Ubuntu 24.04

Great presentation overall! Clean and consistent graphics, well polished, simple controls and varied enemies! Difficulty curve is just a bit steep but nothing crazy. Awesome game, congrats!

Thank you so much for your reply! Really appreciate that you guys took a look into the issue despite the jam being over.

And again, congratulations for 1st place!

Awesome example of how much can you do with little. Congrats!

One thing:
Playing on the Quest 2, at one point, the FPS start to gradually drop until it is unplayable (around round 8)
It smells like some nodes aren't being queue_free'd, maybe? Maybe the proyectiles aren't being deleted? Or maybe the enemies aren't being freed after dying.

Besides that, really cool!

Hey, I have the same problem! I think it's the TIC-80 "engine", because playing the pico 8's version of wolfenstein 3d on the browser an works perfectly, without FPS drops. But I really don't know, just a speculation.

TIC-80 community · Created a new topic A crazy idea...

Hi!

I'm new in this community and I've been playing around with the TIC-80. It's awesome. But I thoght: "If there is a way to get information from the web and put it on a cartridge?" Like.... via an injected LUA code that has a kind of API to read the @tic_computer's last Tweet and print it on the screen? So anyone from SURF might open this cart an check the latest news...
Well... maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, Greetings!
