Very beautiful story. I love the body horror and gore of it, as well as Maelyn’s despair. The way Eric seems to follow her no matter where she goes, the way that even in finding this new mission for herself she still ends up forced and alone (depending on the ending I guess). Starling is extremely cute and sweet. His limited speaking makes him only more monstrous and darling. Both art and writing work really well together, enhancing one another. I imagined the process of them making that wing in so much detail. Thank you for this wonderful story.
I’m glad to hear that! I want many people to be able to enjoy this game.
I was able to go back and play again with a mouse this time. I really love everything about it. Hector is so freaky. One of his portraits has a very unsettling expression, I get shivers every time. So cool. Matvey is interesting too, he is a little pathetic, a little mean, but also a monarchist. It’s very interesting that Hector, being a prince and all, is less of a monarchist than Matvey. I’m really excited for the final release. Good job!!!
Absolutely excellent prose and the art and game design overall really enhance the experience. ”It’s tender as I leak out of the newly stitched flesh.” — this sentence etched itself into my eyes I think. Really beautiful. The hunger and its inhuman nature are so well-conveyed. Thanks a lot for this experience!!
Just started playing. So far the impression is amazing. The way everything is presented is great and the narration is so interesting. Hector is very messed up, asking for a cup of saliva, okayyy <3
I got stuck very quickly on a section where you click the passport and to progress you need to “long press and scroll up”. It seems impossible with a touchpad on a laptop. I tried holding “enter” and scrolling, or holding “enter” and pressing “home” or “page up”, but nothing worked. I do have a mouse at home so I will try again later, but for now this made me even unable to save progress.
To be clear, I played the demo on Steam!
The default being Jonathan gave me such a strong throwback to Dracula I almost giggled. Ahhh Dragan is adorable. The attention to player choices is very pleasant too, like the early-on trick with whether you lie or not about your motivations. I had a lot of fun playing the demo and hope to come back and play the full game once it’s done. Great job!
Fascinating game. I love the prose and I also just generally like being little animal-like or dragon-like creatures. The thralls made me somewhat sad though. I didn’t read the description before playing so didn’t know whether to expect a friendly, neutral, or a darker take on vampires - and mistakenly assumed it was going to be somewhere between friendly and neutral. The option to refrain from drinking from thralls broke my heart :( I actually did surprisingly well on my first round, considering that day 1 was just walking around confused. But then wanted to see if there would be an ending if I just slept every day without going outside. Quickly descended into like -99 on stats. Again, fascinating game. Will keep an eye on the updates.
My absolute favorite ending was the medium one. All of them are really emotional though, such a pleasure. And you said original music? It works so well! Really beautiful use of the engine for sure. The choice to have their portraits in these rectangular shapes adds to the aristocracy of it all together with the color scheme and serif font. Did you draw the art digitally or traditionally? mixed? It looks like traditional art, I really love it.
Try to figure out which choice displays more attention to which character and stick to one character only. In the second half, Mihnea likes honesty, while Teri doesn’t mind whether you’re proactive or more passive. Now thinking about it, I’ll add a txt file with a full guide to the downloadables later so there’s an option if anyone else gets stuck or if the hint doesn’t help!
