Thanks for the comment <3. Yes, I grew up with this game, and honestly I still play it with my family, especially at Christmas! It's super fun to play together, also because everyone has their own style: one of my uncles always bets low, while my dad always goes for the Piatto. Little things like that always make for a great time. Thanks again for the comment, and stay tuned for future updates!

Piatto: A Night at the Osteria is a roguelike card game set in a Sicilian village and built on Piatto, a traditional betting game played with Sicilian cards.

Here the link of the game: https://federaiko15.itch.io/piatto
The rules are simple. You bet, then you draw. A card from 1 to 5 means your bet goes into the pot. A card from 6 to 10 means you take that much out of the pot. Face cards change things: the Jack steals a coin, the Knight makes the next player skip a turn and the King doubles your win.
You have one night and four tables: the Piazza Bar, the gambling den in the back room, the Cellar and the Priest's table. The coins you keep go with you from one table to the next. Each table has a quota, and if you end below it the night is over.
- 🃏 Holy cards (santini) change the rules in your favour: San Giuseppe, Santa Rosalia, the Trinacria, Testa di Moro and more
- 🛒 A shop between tables sells holy cards, items and real food from Campobello di Licata ('Mpanata, 'Mpurnatu), but every coin you spend is one you won't have at the table
- 👵 Nonna gives you a holy card before you leave home: "Pigghia, ca stanotti ti servi."
- 🎭 Opponents with their own personalities: Zio Turi always bets small, the Picciotto goes for the whole pot, 'A Zingara counts the cards… and nobody knows who the Hooded Man in the cellar is
- 😈 Curses and events such as the Evil Eye, the Tax Police and the Patron Saint's Feast make every night different
