Update (3)
Still finishing up the code, expect the update to come out soon
I’m still set on the proximity UI idea I think I’ll also use it to make other wise messy UI show up only when need like for example approach a day cell would expand the the UI revealing buttons. Will this make it annoying to click buttons, No because they appear before you get to them so you don’t have to find them most will not even move they will expand showing more context. Why this approach? well calendars can get very messy so keeping things out the way unless needed makes it less messy and cluttered on fully packed calendars.

This update makes MindShield a true useable extension, unlike the annoying extension from before.
Hey everyone,
I built a free tool called MindShield because I kept catching myself blindly dumping prompts into AI without actually thinking through what I was trying to do first.
It runs right in your browser and gives you a quick pause before submitting a prompt if it catches you using AI out of habit.
A few key things about it:
• 100% Local & Private: Everything runs locally on your device—no data gets sent anywhere or stored on servers.
• Doesn’t Get in the Way: It lets quick factual lookups straight through without annoying popups.
• Free & Open Source.
I just released the v1.1.5 update to clean up the interface and make the detection much smoother.
Check it out and let me know what you think or if you have any feedback!

Hey everyone! I’ve been building MindShield, an open-source browser extension designed to help break mindless AI prompt habits by evaluating intent 100% locally on your device.
I recently dropped the v1.1.5 update, so I wanted to share a quick devlog on how I solved a few Manifest V3 technical hurdles:
• Offscreen WASM Execution: To run local ONNX models without service worker timeouts, I routed the pipeline through Chrome’s Offscreen API to keep the model warm in memory.
• Zero Typing Lag: Intercepted prompt submissions using lightweight async regex checks before triggering local evaluation.
• Smart Classification: Refined the intent model so direct factual lookups pass through immediately without nuisance triggers.
What’s New in v1.1.5:
• Streamlined overlay UI (removed the old prompt bar).
• Refined classification logic to minimize false positives.
• Optimized local WebAssembly execution speed.

I’d love to hear any feedback on the workflow or answer technical questions about running local WASM in extensions!
