Great idea and execution with some clever level design :) Almost gave up on the second to last level but I eventually figured it out and I’m happy I did !

Super cute robot, great aesthetic ! Wish there were more levels !

Really clever puzzles and mechanics. The sprite for the placable and non placable tiles should maybe be reversed because at first i didn’t understand where i was allowed to click. But once you’re on board the difficulty curve is well paced and the new blocks are introduced smoothly. Great little puzzler !

Very funny game, both in its gameplay and all the little jokes spread around. It was a bit counterintuitive at first to use right click to drag things instead of left click but you get used to it. I had a lot of fun and I hate my coworkers

Beautiful art and super smart levels ! The onboarding is super smooth, perhaps the eyes could cast light/shadows to make it more obvious in the first levels which blocks are seen and which are hidden (plus you could draw some more pretty sprites that way !). Loved this game !

Absolutely gorgeous, though infernally hard. I often felt like the hitbox of the ball was like 1px bigger than it. While i guess that’s not true and i just suck, maybe a bit more of forgiveness will help with player retention (or keep it hardcore who am i to tell you what to do). Again, beautiful creation !

Thank you ! I just noticed that you’re the creator of rooms within rooms within rooms for the jam a few years back ! I loved that game back then !

Beautiful pixel art and color scheme, this really ties together everything in the game including the UI ! The mechanics are simple to undestrand and fun to play around. Having to check yourself the time to reverse it instead of just losing at the end of the timer is a very refreshing touch. Great game, impressive for 4 days of work, i hope you’ll keep working on it in the future !

Super funny concept and art/sound. Loved slide kicking around. The fact that you cannot move diagonally by pressing two arrows at the same time was a bit frustrating though and made moving around a bit tricky. But otherwise very fun game !

Super nice retro vibe with the beautiful two colors pixel art and the sound design ! I found the jump mechanic particularily novel and also a bit too hard in some rooms but at the same time i really enjoyed the way you have to bounce off walls and so on. Great experience and great game !

Very cute game ! Broke the vase in the first picture and spent the others trying to find similar secrets to sway the pictures ! It was very cool to be able to make not perfect pictures without feeling like you lost.

Yeah… Great art and sound design and super “fun” to control but man.. it really do be like that uh

Clever qnd cute ! Great polished game , i had a lot of fun doing the puzzle and everything feelt super responsive. The little parchment with bits of story were a nice touch as well !

Great game with simple concept and perfect execution. Loved the background with all the moving bombs once the treadmills are introduced. Pretty hard to beat but having a split second of invincibility after a hit was a nice gesture !

To add to what the better half of H&T said :

  • The way we introduced the receivers was indeed too sudden and we should have started with a room where at least one receiver is already powered so the players would notice the sprite difference and make the connexion… In general we gave ourselves a 10 room goal for the jam when at least 3 ou 4 more would have been useful as sort of tutorials.
  • We’ll look into the cable issue, this is the first time we hear it, but also removing cables could be a good implementation for future puzzles !
  • We are sorry for those bugs and will definitely try to fix them for the post jam release !

Thanks again for playing and taking the time to type out all of this useful feedback !

Thank you for such a thorough feedback ! We’ll make sure to correct all of these in the final version, this is invaluable information :)

lovely art, lovely music, lovely ants, what more to say, the difficulty was very well set, incredible work !

Very smart concept ! having the actions pile up really adds to the chaos. It would hel a bit to have a recap of all 15 steps while chosing the new one so can plan a bit. And of course great pixel art and sound design !

You’d better give him a proper death animation after the jam.

Very funny brawl game ! having the enemies group under the falling object was the funniest way to kill theme ! liked the design of the player and the base level monsters a lot !

Very funny game ! Liked a lot the design and the rythm ! In one of my playthrough I glitched through the invisible wall and was stuck with the throwers outside of the chicken pen…

funny concept and very clean UI. I feel like the order of the emoji should become random instand of going 1>2>3>…>N and then N>…>3>2>1 This would make it a bit trickier !

Very cute ! I kept the bath for last and got absolutely gut punched when i realized it takes time, thinking about all the time i spent chasing the hamsters… Very funny premise and great execution !

merci beaucoup ! On a ajouté des hints pour débloquer : /post/16841135 ;)

The lab has a room called “the Farm” where are the retired mice go after failing a test. I’ve never been there and sometimes black smoke comes from under the door but i’m sure they’re all having fun there !

Thank you ! A smoother learning curve is deffinitely on the top of our list for the post jam update and we’ll look into that sound issue, thanks for the feedback !

I think it was a good idea not to have a single “wealth” bar but instead have a bit of viarety so it’s not a simple cookie clicker (even though you do mostly click buttons very fast haha). I did get the negative cash bug but I could fix it by just selling my jets :)

ah yes i actually did all those three haha, forgot about the speakers :)

each room is just the right difficulty, i like the movement, i think it could use some/more coyote time and a bit slower overall movement / maybe a smoother camera movement, sometimes everything is going a bit too fast for me, but it just might be me :)

one of the most creative ideas i’ve seen for this jam ! and i really dig the design of the game, congrats :)

hints and tips

since we couldn’t add a level selector in the 4 days limit of the jam, and because some puzzle have proved more challenging that expected, we provide here this little walk-through help if you happen to get stuck on some level. each begins with a little hint that you can then develop into the full solution if needed. this way you can get just the little spark of idea needed to see the puzzle in a novel way without ruining the fun !

level 13

full answer

use [wasd] / [zqsd] + [space] to move around. you can wall jump and get down a platform by pressing [s] while on top.

level 12

watch out for the timer!

full answer

this room is similar to the previous one, but has a shorter time to solve it. Make sure you’re not standing on electric floors when the timer hits O!

level 11

it seems the door won’t open until some condition is met…

full answer

you can cast ropes to get up and down platforms. Ropes conduct electricity, which can be used to open doors.

level 1o

i’m sure these balls can be used somehow…

full answer

balls can be put into push buttons that, provided they are connected to an electric source, will propagate power.

level o9

except for the required ball throwing skills, this is basically the same puzzle as before.

full answer

you need to bring the ball up to the receiver and power it by casting ropes starting from the floor (or the cage) and reaching all the way to directly under it

level o8

these balls and push buttons seem to be of a different type…

full answer

you need to power both the push button on the left and the platform on the right to open the door. metallic balls are a source of electricity, so putting a blue ball on either a push button or a platform will power them automatically.

level o7

the push button seems very high…

full answer

you need to get up the top right platform to push the metallic ball down, where it will power the push button down to spawn a new ball. if you intercept this one before it falls down, you can throw it on the top push button.

level o6

i know hurling the blue ball into the blue receiver is super tempting to our color-coded monkey brain… you have to fight that urge, be strong !

full answer

throw the electrical ball to the platform to the right, this will spawn a second one that you can then throw on the receiver. then you get a yarn ball for the orange receiver. power it by throwing the electrical ball onto its platform

level o5

the floor is lava, make sure not to mess up your jumps!

full answer

you need to use the first ball to throw it up to one of the push button to release a new ball. reiterate this step to get a third ball, and use all the balls to open the door. make sure not to throw ropes to the middle top platform as it is your only safe floor!

level o4

simple puzzle, half as much time, can you manage ?

full answer

i mean at this point what can i do for you ? just be fast and smart with the steps you take. remember that your ropes conduct electricity but get burned down every zap. oh and also you are carrying a death sphere so there’s that.

level o3

power goes up but also down your ropes.

full answer

bring the yarn ball to the receiver on the floor. once you’ve gotten the second yarn balls, bring both of them back up to fill the receivers connected to the door. then connect the receivers and the platforms in a continuous chain toward the electrified floor on the right of the chamber.

level o2

white mice can’t jump

full answer

you need to take the yarn ball up and use it to push the metallic ball down its platform. once you’ve done that, you can put it in its push button, and cast a rope up the top right platform to burn the yarn ball and get a new one that you can bring to its push button to finally open the door.

level o1

wait what are those protesters pointing at in the background ?

full answer

if you don’t want to escape but to solve the room you can, and this is how you do it : power the top-right pipe by throwing the electrical ball in its receiver. this wall spawn a yarn ball to put in the rightmost orange receiver that you need to power by putting the electrical ball on its platform. take then the two yarn balls to the receivers neat the pipe and power them by linking the platforms to the floor in the left corner or by using the electrical ball.

so cute :) I did 2 more tasks, i don’t know if there was more than that?

Each mechanics is introduced smoothly and the difficulty ramp is nicely scaled to make it enjoyable, i liked it even though I sucked at levels with the bigger numbers lol :)

Concept is solid, perfect match with the jam theme. I agree that there’s a little too much information at once and the presentation could be made a little more clear. But I like the idea of doing puzzles with button clicks, it forces you to think of the right sequences of actions.

Thank you ! You can hold E to throw the ball farther. We should probably have mentioned that in game…

A fellow rat game puzzle game :) Very well designed puzzle rooms, leaving you wanting for more challenging ones :)

fun minigames, reminds me of warioware or the mario bros ds games, good vibes :)

very intricate card system for a game jam ! the position of the hand is not optimal as for me it overlapped with the Jump button making me click it by mistake, but this should be an easy fix :)

fun and effective ! audio + graphics are perfect for the simple mechanics. I had good reaction times on the first 2 so I easily beat them but the random variations after that threw me off and I couldn’t get past the third opponent :(

The map design and character controls feel nice, makes it possible to do cool moves in-air. More feedback on halth/damage taken/new waves would be useful to track your progress/status ! Maybe in a future version?
