This is actually pretty sweet.

Goons are on the road. You have a car.

GoonCrusher is a top-down arcade driving game: hit goons fast enough and they go flat; hit them too slow and you've got a goon on your hood. Version 0.3 just came out, and the first two regions play free in your browser:

• 10 levels and 13 game modes, each in Easy, Medium and Hard
• 3 drivers, each with two tricks of their own
• A garage, upgrades and pickup unlock trees
• Prize games in gift boxes: Claw Crane, Hubcap Shuffle and Scratch Card
• GoonCrusher Radio, with its own songs, a DJ and ads (the songs and voices are made with AI tools)

A second devlog and much progress.

Added new facilities, animations, improvements to tech system, some performance updates and a bunch of quality of life.

After 2 years some of these are done.

2, 3, 4, and 6 have at least some improvements.  One of the more interesting updates is facility designer (game changer 2).

Updated space hotel really for the first time in 2 years.  Also as is part of the Jam's theme wrote a devlog.  Thanks for the push.  Hopefully more updates to come this month.

Thank you.  This feature is in the process of getting rewrite in preparation for expansion.

The originally delivery mechanic is annoying because you only get the supplies *after they unload.  So the supply ship arrives but it only gives you the bump once leaving.  Will change that too.

Thanks for the comment.  There was originally a "heart" icon that was just ascii that broke in the web version.  The @ replaced it.  I think it is in the game over screen just might have the wrong name.

I did wonder if I should make it more turn based and instead wanted to just try a timer you could turn up.

I could definitely see adding more airlock options.

It's supposed to kinda mix city builder and rogue-like, the rogue part making it hard and forcing you to lose to learn.

Maybe these genres should not be mixed lol.

I ended up being surprised how expansive this is.  Love the character and spaceship art, cool to fit in all those unique environments and a second game mode.

Very juicy.  It felt like I was ice skating around a holodeck with a revolver.  Skeletons satisfyingly explode when shot.  Nice work.

This turned out really nice.  Good work!  Gameplay, art, sound all go perfectly together.

Fun fact - the interface design is inspired by the "Lcars" GUI from Star Trek the Next Generation.

I don't think I've ever played a game where you pick up the abilities one at a time.  Cool mechanic.

This is so good.  Very polished.  Beautiful art.  Tight gameplay.  Good balance. 

A couple mechanics short of a game but what's here is well executed.

It would be interesting to try with the light on the player pawn (like a flashlight) and then the mouse only places and removes blocks.

Either Im really good at this game or it is impossible to lose. :)

I totally agree.   Thanks for the feedback. It's a lesson learned.  

I built for desktop, spent the last 2 days getting it working "ok" on web.  Should've just released desktop only and focused on balance and bug fixes instead of web performance.
