Fix released. New engine coming soon.

Hi, great feedback. No, that doesn't sound right, thank you for flagging. The tactical familiarity should be driven by the whole team, not a specific small group of players. A team using (and training) such tactic should grow its familiarity, and a drop in that should only come when a different tactic is used for a few games.

I am issuing a fix to that tonight.

As a side note: I am working on a new match engine, where there will be a lot more pitch action and the flow will be far more natural.

Hi eveyone

Turnstile '96 is out:  a pixel-art football management game I've been building solo.

You take over a club and run pretty much everything: pick the team, make transfers, improve the stadium, develop the squad and try to keep the board happy. You can play through matches live by making decisions as they happen, or simulate them if you want to get through the season faster.

One of the things I've tried to do differently is make player selection a bit less obvious. So, a player's overall rating doesn't necessarily tell you how good they will be in your team. Each position values different attributes, so a full-back, for example, needs a very different set of strengths from a striker. Playing someone out of position can also have a significant effect on your actual team strength, even if their overall rating still looks good.

The game shows you this directly, and there's a guide explaining what matters for each position. I've found that it makes picking the XI much more of a puzzle than simply choosing the players with the highest numbers.

The football world itself is fictional. The cities and countries are real, but all the clubs, stadiums and competitions have been created for the game.

If you give it a try, I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Thanks, hecticmike
