Really lovely and addicting game. One piece of feedback i could give is to make the spellbooks glow, as late game finding them through corpses and effects is kinda hard.

Pretty neat game for a beginner dev!

You could make so that the game pauses whenever the menus we have to select from show up. Pressing ESC to pause would be nice as well.
