ThreadBall by IDBProductions

ThreadBall is a basketball game where you never touch the ball.

You draw threads — glowing lines that bend its path — and physics does the rest.

Your first thread launches it, and after that you are drawing live, mid-flight, improvising.

And every thread dissolves in seconds.

The line you drew a moment ago will not be there when the ball comes back around.

Every basket is a small plan that falls apart while you are watching it, and the whole game is in keeping it alive long enough to go in.

Let me know what you think :)

About to open my 14th Meadow - How many can you run?

Play Mosswood Meadow →

Mosswood Meadow is a cozy incremental about a clearing that has gone back to the wild, and the small creatures who learn how you play.

https://idbproductions.itch.io/mosswood-meadow/

You clear the moss, leaves and brambles for Nature Energy, and spend it on wildflowers, ponds, orchards and lanterns. Everything you plant gathers dew, and dew brings creatures out of the treeline. And those creatures watch. Keep clearing and one of them decides that is its job. Gather dew and another becomes a Forager. Pet them and one learns to look after the rest. No two of them ever take the same job, and no two meadows raise quite the same folk.

What is in this one

  • Your folk have stopped doing everything for you. They used to clear a new glade, plant it, and spend your energy on it inside a minute. Now they finish the second half of a clearing and never start the first — and they will tell you what they would have planted instead.
  • A glade's price holds still. It is fixed the moment the glade is offered, and the panel says exactly what is still to find.
  • The account book. Hover the "from layout" figure and it opens up: what your planting is worth, the soil you have turned, the water you have carried, and what they come to together.
  • Every plant looks different, and the grander ones are drawn bigger.
  • Point at a patch and it tells you what it is — any plant, any patch of wild ground, any bit of terrain.
  • A share button, so you can post your meadow when it is worth showing off.
  • Weeds come back faster in the early game, so there is always something to do and something to earn.

Two editions, one game. The Free Edition is three clearings with every system in it — all five creatures, the water and the soil, the links between plants, the wildlife, the weather. The $5 Supporter Edition opens the rest of the valley, as far as you care to go. Nothing is locked away; you are buying land.

It runs in a browser. Nothing to install, and your meadow is saved on the device you play on.

Play Mosswood Meadow →

If you do, I would love to know what your folk turned into.

Māori Vocabulary Match — learn everyday te reo Māori, free in your browser

Kia ora! I've just published Māori Vocabulary Match, a friendly vocabulary game for everyday te reo Māori.

Māori Vocabulary Match by IDBProductions

A clue word appears — wai, moana, whare — and you tap the answer that matches. Levels 1–4 go English → Māori, then from level 5 the game flips and shows you Māori first, which is where the learning really happens. Every word can be spoken aloud with the Hear it button, and each round ends with a finish card you can save and share.

Play free in your browser: https://idbproductions.itch.io/maori-vocabulary-match

The free version has 8 word packs (113 words), all ten levels, spoken words, stars and best scores. The $5 Supporter Edition on the same page adds nine more packs (231 words in total), a 60-second Challenge mode, a Study mode that remembers the words you know, and a printable word list and flash cards for the classroom.

[embed gameplay.gif here]

It's built for classrooms and kitchen tables: big buttons, everyday family-friendly words, no ads and nothing to sign up for. Works on phones, tablets, laptops and interactive whiteboards.

Math Match by IDBProductions

Math Match is out — a free maths matching game

Math Match by IDBProductions

Math Match is a memory game where every pair is a sum and its answer. Turn two cards over and see if they go together: 7 × 6 and 42, 9 + 4 and 13, 24 ÷ 8 and 3.

It is made for the classroom, the car and the kitchen table — the kind of game that sneaks a bit of number practice into something that still feels like a game.

What you get for free

  • All four operations — adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, or a mixed board of all four
  • 5 levels, from 3 pairs up to 8 pairs, with bigger numbers as you go
  • Big, clear cards, sounds, stars and confetti when the board is cleared
  • Best scores saved in your browser, for every operation and level
  • Kind maths: subtraction never gives a negative answer and division never leaves a remainder
  • A finish card at the end of each round — your time, how many pairs you got right, how many turns went wrong — ready to save as a picture or share with someone

The Supporter Edition ($5, on this same page)

  • 10 challenge levels (6–15), up to 24 pairs and numbers into the hundreds
  • Times-table focus — practise one table at a time, 2× to 12×, with both the multiplication and the division facts
  • Beat the Clock — clear the board before the countdown runs out, with a time bonus for the seconds you save
  • Calm mode — no timer at all, for when the clock is the enemy
  • A hint button for when a sum will not turn up
  • Printable worksheets with answer keys, ready for the photocopier

Built for real classrooms

No ads, no accounts, no tracking. Progress lives in the browser and never leaves the device. It runs on a laptop, a tablet, a phone or the interactive whiteboard — and the Supporter download works completely offline: unzip it, open index.html, and it is there even when the school wifi is not.

One thing worth knowing about the levels

A memory board has to be visible all at once, so on a smaller screen the game deals as many pairs as will fit at a size the sums are still readable at, and tells you when it has done that ("Board fits 18 of 24 pairs on this screen"). On a big screen you play the whole board.

Made in New Zealand

Math Match is part of teaching.nz — free learning games for every device. The Supporter Edition is what keeps the rest of them free.

Try it

Math Match by IDBProductions

The free edition is on this page — grab the download and play a level. If you would like the classroom extras, the Supporter Edition is $5 on the same page.

If you try it with a class, I would love to hear how it goes in the comments: which levels landed best, and what would be worth adding next.

Hi everyone,

I've just published Roll It, a small browser tool for one job: getting a random result fast.

Roll It by IDBProductions

No install, no sign-up, works on phones.

What you can roll:

 • Number dice — classic 1–6 pips, 1 to 6 at once
• Letter dice — A–Z, each letter colour-coded
• Coin flip — heads or tails, 1 to 6 coins
• Spinner wheel — your own list of names or options

You pick the roll style on the menu: Instant (the result appears the moment you click), Quick (a half-second tumble) or Animated (a bigger, staggered roll for when you want the drama). Results show the total and the breakdown, your last six rolls stay on screen, and you can tap a result to copy it. There's optional sound and shake-to-roll on phones too.

Play it free here: https://idbproductions.itch.io/roll-it

The $5 Supporter Edition lives on the same page and adds up to 10 dice at once, custom dice faces (put words or emoji on the six faces) and four table themes — that's what keeps the free version free.

It's plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I'd genuinely like feedback, especially if there's a mode you'd use that isn't there,  the spinner wheel came from exactly that kind of request.

Forty-five seconds on the clock. Six tiles. Make a word.

Word Sprint by IDBProductions

Six tiles, 45 seconds, one word. Every word you find buys back time — but the tiles get bigger, the words have to get longer, and the clock slowly stops paying you back.

I built the whole thing around one rule: the tiles can never be unfair. Every set is generated from a real dictionary word, so a solution always exists, and every set is checked to contain at least a dozen other words before it is used. When a run ends, the game shows you the words that were still sitting in those tiles — because being told "no" with no explanation is what makes a word game feel like it is cheating.

https://idbproductions.itch.io/word-sprint

The daily run is free.

One fresh set of tiles for everyone, the same for every player, every day. The endless modes — Classic, Hardcore, Zen, and one where you choose your own starting clock — are in a small supporter pack.

No ads, no accounts, no tracking, and no network calls at all. The whole game is one file, and your scores stay on your own device.

80,000 words, and it takes the modern ones that older word lists throw out: selfie, emoji, wifi, meme, blog, podcast, hashtag.

If you play it and the game refuses a word it should have taken, tell me. The dictionary is the part I care most about getting right.

Thanks Belle - tried to make it so Mochi is in a different random place each time the game loads. The maps have heaps of different areas for her to hide

See if you can beat me...

Find Mochi by IDBProductions

One cat. Hundreds of people. She is right there — somewhere.

Find Mochi is a hidden-object game where the whole crowd is moving. Everyone in the scene has somewhere to be: a vendor restocks, a busker plays, a kid loses a balloon, a dog steals an apple. Somewhere among them is Mochi, and finding her records how long it took you.

Free browser play - let me know what you think
