Might well be it, since the map I was saving and loading was rotated before editing.  I needed that city to be on a southern coast and the river to run east to west...

Following up, yes, I can import unrotated maps (even with multiple edits) without problems.  And with my workaround (Blueprint, Discard) I can get back maps that were rotated before saving.

Well, it looks like getting from .svg to a font is easier than I thought -- there are multiple converters online.  Looking forward to the .svg export.  :)

I love being able to import .json files to save and load my maps -- except that every time I try to import with the current version of Perilous Shores, I get an error box reading 'Can't access property "init", g is null' -- and nothing loads.  I'm not good at checking over .json files, so there might be an obvious fix by editing the file, but I'm reluctant to try it since I had what seemed a good save of an edited region...

FWIW, I'm running with Firefox-ESR, kept current, on Debian 13.5, plenty of RAM and storage.  I get  slightly different error with Chromium (also kept current): "Cannot read properties of null (reading 'init')"

Edit to add: I did find that Load works, kind of -- after loading and getting the error message, going to Blueprint and Discard will show the loaded region with any rotations removed (i.e. in the orientation of the original generated map from which I edited).  A usable work-around...

FWIW, I'm now seeing a 6x5 matrix, which is more letters than most Earthly languages that use an alphabet.  Toggle Table mode, and you get more than that, a couple tables worth is getting to be enough for a syllabary (needs 70+, depending on the language).

Wow, this is great!  These are very organic-looking, especially with Handwriting, Brush, Wiggle, and both "round" options toggled on. I'd love to see an option to export to TrueType or some other vector font format.  Even just .svg would be good, I could probably find a way to get .svg characters into a font...

It'd be extra cool to be able to choose to use a set of these runes for the titles on a map from Perious Shores or MFCG -- which would be easy enough if they could export to a font.

Excellent!  Import is the big thing, editing links is "nice to have" but not critical.

I'd love to have a way to save a map to which I've added a bunch of towns, villages, and dangers with the links to 1PDG or FMCG still live.  Also, it'd be cool to be able to edit the link URLS so I can link to cities and villages I've generated previously (although it is very good to have the links generate towns/cities correctly oriented to nearby water and roads.

Something that would help me in my use of Medieval Fantasy City Generator (which I've used to create cities for GURPS and now The Fantasy Trip campaign settings) is to have an export of a zoomed-in district save with the district name rather than the city name as is currently the case.  Including capitalization and spaces instead of underscores would be even better; I then wouldn't have to rename the files when I save the districts.

I'm not entirely sure this isn't browser dependent; I used to use SeaMonkey, which is increasingly behind the times in terms of browser support for various pages (more and more work only with Edge, Firefox, and Chrome/Chromium or even a subset of those), and I've switched to Firefox since the last time I generated a number of cities in order to save the maps.

BTW, I'd like to say that your generated city maps are very much like what I'd draw if I had the skill with Inkscape and hundreds of hours of spare time, and being able to export as .svg means I can use Inkscape to add things like street names, business names, landform names, etc. that your tool doesn't generate.  One day maybe I'll have enough proficiency to extract a district from my biggest city map that I forgot to export individually -- and can't get the city to reload with the same shapes.

If I could reload from .svg (or convert .svg to .json and reload that) it'd be cool for reworking cities after a change in the software...

Looking forward to the wedding, and waiting patiently for the next developments in "Memories"...  :)

USA and European doctors report A1c with a factor of 10 difference (as they do blood sugar).  In USA, sugar is milligrams per centiliter, with "normal" being 70-100 fasting.  In Europe it's grams per liter, which gives exactly one tenth the number (= 7 to 10).  Other way for A1c, I believe -- mine is usually just above 6.  Not sure what the units are on this, but a European 53 is the same as an American 5.3, which is very good for anyone.

PC download link seems to have problems -- the download button at that page only loads full page ads, but doesn't start a download in a reasonable time.  They've also got a banner up about how their system is crumbling under excessive usage...

This looks interesting.  Any chance of a Linux version?  If it's Renpy, that's apparently easy enough (I'm no dev, but lots and lots of VNs with Windows and Linux in the same download).

Cool, thanks!

A little confusion with the downloads -- I see options for Android, PC/Windows, and Mac (but the Mac version has a Linux penguin).  Which version works on Ubuntu?  The PC one that usually is the case with Ren'Py?

Just played through the latest update (Chapter 2 part 2) -- and I completely agree, I wouldn't have wanted to exclude Nixie anyway.  I read the "Walk it Back" log entry, and because I didn't get 2.2 instantly, I don't know what twist you undid -- something related to Westermark Effect? -- but I want to see more of Rose in the game, and surely wouldn't have any objection to see Petal, Bliss, Rose and/or Moon together in various ways, with or without Nixie or MC (or Chuck and/or Wendy, for that matter).

Okay, grabbed the one with "compressed" in the title, it's extracting now.  Thanks!

I've downloaded and extract 0.6 twice now, and the launcher still won't start.  I'm on Kubuntu 20.04 and lots of other games that use the "same" Ren'Py launcher work fine.  0.5 worked fine.  I've got 32 GB RAM, 10+ GB of free space on the volume the launcher lives on, and a 4+ GHz 8-core processor, so I don't think there's a resource problem.  Suggestions?
