Hi everyone! I’ve just released Solar Drift, a short sci-fi survival text adventure and it's free!

You’re adrift in space with a star closing in and the clock running down. Every screen gives you up to four choices, with no typing and no parser, just quick decisions. What you’ve done and found earlier decides which options appear later, so your route through the story really matters. Make the right calls in time and you might survive. Make the wrong ones and the star gets you.

It’s styled after the old UK Teletext games, with chunky block graphics, the Teletext50 font and the red/green/yellow/blue Fastext-coloured choice buttons. It was inspired by the gameplay style of Bamboozle and Eagle Quest.

I created this game as a test of my custom C++ engine using SFML and it has been a fun and challenging development so I hope you have fun playing it here https://jarvonoir.itch.io/solar-drift

Really enjoyed this, a good little ghost story and some good gameplay and level design. I wanted it to be longer as I was enjoying myself!

It's had 28 downloads so far so I am hoping at least one person has played it! Have you played it?
