thanks man, I’m glad you mentioned SuperTux because actually a large part of the game is inspired by it haha. My tilesets are based on how SuperTux does it, plus I made a similar looking level editor for my game too. One of my childhood classics, SuperTux, love it
Yeah Mothic is my first attempt at an engine. It's moreso just a framework right now as I've only been working on it for 2-3 months. And doing this game jam in Mothic has shown me how inadequate and terrible it is right now haha. Many things to improve before it becomes public (even though this stripped down version is sorta public now lol).
Thanks for your compliments! Gradius is indeed a bit of an old game to play these days, but I enjoy some good retro games.
This was our first ever game jam, our first ever collaboration, and our first ever completed project. It might be rough around the edges but it is fun and challenging.
Don’t know if any development is still being done, but the game is unplayable for me. I use iOs 14.6, and the “start” and “level select” buttons do nothing but change colors when pressed. This game looks interesting, but I unfortunately can’t try it out.
