Hi everyone, good luck for the start tomorrow! If you need a title or UI font with some Halloween mood, here are 7 free display fonts you can use in your jam game, including commercial releases.
- NIGHTMASS: heavy, wavy-edged letters with a dark poster mood (great for horror titles)
- INK FILIGREE: Victorian-style inline serif for ornate titles
- Campflare: condensed storybook serif for spooky tales
- PRESSMARK: heavy display serif with printed, distressed edges
- VALCREST, BLOPPA, SAUSAGE: an elegant serif, a chunky playful face and a rounded comic serif
Download (free, no payment): https://just-for-free-font.itch.io/jfff-free-display-fonts
- License: SIL Open Font License 1.1. You can use and embed the fonts in your game; just keep OFL.txt with the font files if you ship them. Credit is appreciated but not required.
- Latin characters only (no Cyrillic, Greek or CJK). They work best at title sizes.
- Please check your jam's asset rules. The itch.io page carries an AI-generated content disclosure (preview art and text), so skip these if your jam bans AI assets.
Good luck with your games! 馃巸
