Sorry, I only just saw this! Glad you made it into the Discord, it's been great having you there. And same reason we started KilnGuild: tired of the anti-AI attitude, so it's good to have a place where people just make stuff. Looking forward to the bee call update, I'll give it a go when it's out 🐝

Ah, that makes sense, thanks! So multiplayer works on the CrazyGames version? I’ll try it there with a friend.
If you’d like more feedback before deciding on an itch.io version, I run a small Discord for people making games with AI, where members play each other’s games and give honest, specific notes. You’d be welcome to post it there: kilnguild.com/discord
I also saw you ran AI Legends Jam, with rules very close to ours (any AI tools, just say how you used them). We’re planning our first jam. If you ever run another one, I’d be happy to share it with our members.
Ha, that explains it, the spy roach got me a few times! I noticed my bees disappearing whenever he showed up, but I didn’t realize he was stealing them. Thanks for the reply!
One idea since you asked: could you add a way to call the bees to you? When the honeycomb gets big they stay in the center, and I can’t deal with all the roaches on my own.
I also saw you ran AI Punk Jam. Your rules are almost exactly like ours (AI allowed, say which tools you used, keep it family-friendly). I run a small Discord for people making games with AI, and we’re planning our first jam. Would you be up for sharing what you learned setting yours up? And if you’re thinking of running another round, I’d happily share it with our members.
I read your write-up. Turning the HeroQuest house rules you made with your kids into a tavern sim while stuck on hold is a great origin story. And “looks only its creator could love” has aged well, because the new art really sells the world now.
I’m in the same boat: a CNC programmer, not a coder, and I built my own game the same way, playtesting and feeding back to the AI as I went. Yours is a good few steps ahead of mine, though. The Spirit Mirror and the Morning Gazette are the kind of ideas I wish I’d thought of. Your closing question, “where is the line?”, is one I keep thinking about too.
That’s partly why I started a small Discord for people making games with AI. No judgement about how it’s built, just playing each other’s games and giving useful notes. If you’d ever like fresh players on Tavernkeeper, or just people to talk that question through with, you’d be very welcome: https://discord.gg/u4xdWuXF2H
