biblical levels of peak

Thanks for playing! Yes, it is endless. It is too easy, I’ll try to allocate more time for playtesting next time, designing all the systems took longer than I expected.

Touhou!! <3 Cool stuff, I figured out in the first encounter it’s best to get above the enemies as they don’t shoot upwards and just loop around the screen. Good tech, I know setting up something like this in Godot isn’t straightforward. Good music choice, fits the series well.

The art is so so excellent! The character designs are so original, I love them!! Super fun gameplay, great sfx, music, I have no notes. Impressive af for a jam game and just in general.

Thanks for feedback, the balancing/decision making is a problem with the jam version, yeah. Glad you enjoyed it anyway!

I thought about having player/enemy status always visible but didn’t have time left to test if it would work with this artstyle/low game resolution.

Thanks for playing <3, I wish I had more time to playtest and balance the game, I’ll upload a patch after ratings end. I feel the concept could be fun if expanded (but I’ll prolly move on to other things).

Hey, thanks for playing for so long! Happy to hear you like the art <3 There’s not really new content after Battle 7/8.

Very neat little game! Controls felt good, if a little slow. I think adding some sounds and music would go a long way. I found the art charming :)

Also, I know the UI was bugged, but some clear distinction between winning and losing the game would be nice, I didn’t know if I had won or randomly died.

Interesting concept, but very confusing. Tried to figure it out but couldn’t beat even that first enemy. Maybe this could work if there was a visual tutorial or indicators in gameplay, but even then having to remember which color corresponds to which attack which corresponds to which button isn’t fun in itself. Very neat aesthetic though, nice art.

Thank you, in rushing to meet the deadline I had no time to play test sadly.

Cinema art and sounds. Gameplay felt almost completely random to me though. Cool stuff tho!!

Sorry, I should have specified the game should be played with a mouse. I don’t think it would work on a trackpad well if at all. The control scheme is crucial to the game and keyboard controls wouldn’t fit at all. Thanks for trying either way!

Very very fun! Great artstyle and fitting sound design. You landed on a really neat concept that fits the theme great and executed it well.

Good recommendations! If anyone finds this thread, also check out Sunset Twist by EchoTheThird, it’s very polished.

Great music! Very creative game, though the lack of challenge/no punishment for doing badly disincentivizes trying for good combinations of guests. Cute art too!

Very interesting and original take on the genre!

I think you gain companions too slowly, I couldn’t get anywhere close to what’s shown in the screenshots. The mechanics aren’t really explained at all, too. Sadly, the game bugged out and I couldn’t move after killing the boss in the temple.

With balancing, content and more sophisticated enemy/companion AI, this could very well be expanded into a full, sale-worthy game. Good stuff!

I love games about managing several things at once and this one’s really solid! Very fun, good presentation: the art is very nice and music is fitting. Great entry!

Only thing I can nitpick is steering the ship isn’t immediately intuitive to me and I kept spinning the wheel the opposite direction by accident. I think if the ship was going upwards it would make more sense to my brain.

😭 i can’t rate that

nah seriously, thanks mate <3

Glad you enjoyed it!! I’ll try to find music for future jams for sure. During development I tried adding moving vines you could grab onto but just couldn’t get it to work sadly. As for the speedruns, that’s why there’s a timer at the end of the game :D

I want to see some hidden gems! Share entries you think are great but didn’t get that many ratings. I’ll start: Please SPIN I need this! by xynth. If you enjoy Factorio-esque games, you might like it!

You can also share your game and I’ll try to play and rate it (and leave feedback if I have any)! Here’s my entry if you want to play and rate it too. (I’ll focus on games with <30 ratings, Windows/browser)

The fact I played it for over 30 minutes speaks for itself. Very polished and engaging. The idea for random loan debuffs is really clever! Great music too, it didn’t get tiring. Underrated entry, well done.

Serious Monkey Business

Hope you have some fun! I’ll check yours later too.

Thanks, glad you had fun. I’m not sure what you mean by the monkey being more fleshed out. As in general polish/game feel?

Thank you so much, I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it. Yeah determining the speed is sort of based on how far your cursor is away from the monkey so it can be affected by screen resolution, really should have fixed that.

I won’t expand this to a full game but the movement mechanic is something I will keep in mind for future projects.

Impressive amount of well-designed puzzles for a jam entry, very enjoyable! It looks good, only thing I can criticise is mixing pixel sizes. I gave up at level 17 but had fun, I just don’t have enough patience for puzzle games personally and so didn’t really go for high scores - an undo button would help. Keep making stuff!

Best game I played this jam, the art is so pretty and fits together perfectly, excellent use of theme too. Very fun, basically a 5/5 from me. Only thing is I didn’t immediately get that bouncing off walls give spin and how useful the brake button is, but that may very well be on me. Underrated entry, good stuff <3

I did not find the secret route btw :p

The visuals and audio are put together well, I love the overall theme. I wish the gameplay was more engaging, I see there is a scoring table but because you don’t know when the game will end you can’t really strategise into future turns. It’s a very neat idea though, well done.

You’re too kind, thank you so much!

Here ya go, feedback’s welcome:

I’ll play your entry too!

Wow your game looks really good! I’ll play it later.

Here’s mine then: Serious Monkey Business

common yuri W

Very much enjoyed it, good visuals and I love the art! It’s a neat idea gameplay-wise too but the issue is it’s practically entirely up to chance, so it took a few tries of doing the same thing and hoping for luck. I’ll check it out if you update it after voting ends! Gating the yuri cutscene behind a luck-based game is criminal tho <3

Neat movement mechanic, it feels pretty good overall but once you are on a platform it is difficult to adjust your orientation without falling. I feel it maybe could have been better if S button rotated the player backwards instead of rotating 180 degrees. Enjoyable as a rage game.

Great visuals and well-executed concept! It seems to me the meta is to do one spin per round because it’s slow and you can re-roll the +- unit count so you only gain units and not lose any. At some point there’s thousands of things on screen and the framerate dropped to ~1 FPS :D (played in Firefox). Fun game! ^^

Cool game, good variety on the different bullet types, creative! One enemy got stuck outside the map and ended my run sadly. I like the art direction, good stuff.

Cool game, one suggestion I can give is to add a custom cursor as on a high-resolution screen it can be hard to see the system one on a black and white background. Also, a score counter at the end, I got 33 clients and no way to prove it :p Nice art too!

That was enjoyable, I like the art! Neat concept for the setting.

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it.

The presentation is great, the spectrogram plane is really cool. Maybe it’s pedantic to say this but it’s not really a rhythm game per se as you don’t have to perform inputs to the music, but I enjoyed my time anyway! Good stuff.

Thanks and sorry about that ^^ I feared that would happen but I didn’t know what I could do to prevent it with the physics engine sadly. Glad you liked it!

Thank you!!
