Just happened to me on Day 14 of an AMBIENT playthrough (wanted to make that part extra clear). Most events are disabled in this mode, so it's interesting to see this event still happens. I guess that means the event isn't exactly dangerous. I also remember one time where, as someone else mentioned, the Kerfur-O reappeared after roughly 30 real-world minutes. I also know this can happen if the Kerfur is nearby when you sleep. Seems the only safe methods would be A, put them in your inventory (the Monique model is capable of this, as she has the same properties as the doll when deactivated), or B, to potentially leave them out in front of your base idling. Basically, it's a cognito hazard. One time I was cleaning a transformer and had a Kerfur-O set to patrol. Noticed after a bit they hadn't run inside in a while, and found the blood splat. This specifically happened several versions ago, probably during v0.6.X or v0.7.X.

I managed to do this recently and have been trying to figure out what I did. I meant to write it down in a notebook in-game, but I know for a FACT that I did this, because it allowed me to take cans with ~25 gas each and put the fuel all into one. You don't lose the cans this way, either. I'm currently trying to find the way I did this again. It is not a crafting recipe or the like. It's some key combo while holding one canister and aiming at another

I was picking up some indie games on Steam and this one popped back into my mind. Had to hunt down the TFS Bargain Barrel stream where I'd first seen it. I genuinely hope the dev is doing alright. According to the Kickstarter updates, they've been on a 3-6 month hiatus for 3 years now (for mental health reasons).
I hope everything works out. There are still lots of people who would love to see this game come to light. Sending my best wishes <3
