Hello! If you like narrative games with unusual mechanics, would appreciate if you check out my game: As I Remember
Yes, I agree about reload and metal plates, took me a while to figure it out. But overall the game is fun and I enjoyed the writing as well. I was even a bit said that I couldn't properly read them and fully enjoy because I had to quickly shoot things haha
Maybe mix available upgrades so it adds a bit to the dynamic. Not that they're all available every time but let's say only random 3.
Would appreciate to hear feedback on my game: As I Remember
Thanks for a review!
I think cluttering is a part of experience as it (to me) reflects that weight of memories and the process of trying to think about something but being distracted by past thoughts. Might not be the best thing from a gameplay perspective, but I think it's a bit poetic :D And it was also done to motivate users to use "clear head" button
As for sounds, yeah, it was my first time doing my own music, so I spent 2 evenings just trying to figure it out haha So it would defenitely benefit from having more melodies, but I've only had time for this one
Hey, if you like narrative games, I think you might find mine interesting: As I Remember
My game is basically about getting into someone else's head and crawling through their memories, associations, and thought processes as they write a letter to... (which is just one of many things you have to deduce!).
Check it out here: As I Remember
Thanks for such a detailed review, really appreciate it.
1) Yes, that's probably the main danger spot, that players can kinda get lost in the story as it gets bigger and they explore more and more. I've partially tried to deal with it using "remember" mechanic, that allows you to "save" some words to see their meanings anytime and restart the sequnece from there. Was this mechanic clear or not that much actually?
The fading was made to help players see what they've unlocked by clicking before it gets lost inside the other text, but the timing may really be a bit too long.
Thanks for the review again!
Hey hey, some feedback!
Black text on black buttons isn't that visible, I'd recommend changing the color either of buttons or text in the starting menu.
Overall I enjoyed the game, I think it fits into the theme perfectly and some levels are such a ragebait haha Especially lvl 2, when I was thinking that I'm finally done with it, and then... haha
Here's my game if you'd like to check: https://latrai.itch.io/as-i-remember
I like the voice acting! Yet, I'm stuck from the beginning: I just walk around the room, click everything but nothing happens (after the voice said to turn right)
My game is a bit experimental: https://latrai.itch.io/as-i-remember
