Sorry you didn't enjoy your time . But let me point something out, before you write it off.
1. The Combat-Wheel isn't RNG, you can aim it and select any move, so in theory. you can select the best attack each time. This should cut your battle time in half.
2. If your Health is full (or in the white), aim for 2 o'clock.
3. If your health is in Yellow, aim for 9 o'clock
4. If your health is in the red, aim for about 3-4 o'clock.
I'll admit, Warrior of Light isn't the best starting character, cause your Skill and Special are Defensive abilities. So really that tutorial fight, is made for you try out magic and toy with the toy since it's basically impossible to die. Two Earth spells will do the trick.
Once you get the first dungeon, can be tough but you need to mix the balance of Magic and Combat. Don't be afraid to spend all your MP, because there are abilities to get it back.
But if it's not fun for you, then I'm sorry. But I do hope you have a good day!
Thats a bunch of factors i think that could cause problems here. Im unsure if Linux would need .ogg or .mp4 for audio, so idk if music or audio would work. (I only imported .ogg to save space). If linux or steam encrypts ant of the files, then it may have problems understanding how to open files that out of the rpg norm, cause I use 4-5 different folders to space images. But once I get season 2 stable, I dont mind providing you project file to try out on the steam deck. Id interested to get it working on the deck. Would actually love it. But season 2 won't be out until beginning or September or late August. If I run into delays, then im going to wait until after Final Fantasy Resonance has been out for awhile (late November or December). So if you are interested in playing it, id recommend following the page, so you can get update announcement. Season 2 is a big update, so its taking a bit.
I've not tried it on Steam Deck, in which I wouldn't think it to work there to begin with...There's another idea that may be worth trying, which would require you to own RPG Maker MV and opening the game in the editor and play from there. I don't own a Steam deck myself, so I can't really troubleshoot the issue and I can't upload another version since the game is going through a major rehaul and is currently unable right now for Season 2...I'm sorry. This can be something I look into on next release.
Hey, thanks for the feedback. Glad you're enjoying the demo so far. I am toying with the idea of adding the attacks to the Brave Skills, I am working on way that it doesn't feel "annoying" to access. Because having to scroll down to Brave, check your BP to see if you can use a skill isn't ideal. As of now, I have an idea where there's an additional menu to the right, it'll blink when you have enough BP for a skill. But I want to class it up before I commit to it. As for the current wheel, it's not random, it can be aim. A big issue with this current version is the lack of information that is provided. I kind of a lore dump at the start of the game, forcing to more information onto the player, without a proper guidelines and what abilties actually do. So as for the next update, I think it'll be in it's "Final product" demo phase, it's going to be pretty massive so I hope you'll return to the game within 3-4 months to check it out.
As for your party, who do you use? I always find it interesting to see who players use, if there's a meta out there or not. I'd love to know if gimped your favorite player, who made them OP or not. Anyways, thanks for the feedback! If you record your gameplay, feel free to post it. I'll watch every second of it.
Yeah. Currently the second update has 12 new characters, 8 Final Fantasy, 4 alternate. While it seems like a small update...its massive. With each character's weapon, theres a skin change and a combat wheel change. A good example, is Cloud. He has his Buster Sword, with Retaliate and Braver. His fusion sword has Blade Beam, Limit break...then new additional commands in Limit Break.
As for the Lost Chapters, its in the pipe line. I originally had them planned on the next update. But I tricked my self into a harder idea but its pretty bad ass looking. But yes Lost chapters definitely need to be added.
As for new characters, they take anywhere from 4-8 hours to create, depending on the level of complexity of the character. Rinoa is part of season 2, she took about 10 hours but I also built new mechanics for her.
Type 0, is a game I wish I could have gotten into more. I bought the ps4 version but the combat felt meh too. Im a big Tales of guy, so whenever it comes to action combat, im always comparing the two, lol.
I hope you're enjoying the game. Id have to disappoint, but the next update won't be until October...but it will be a big one. Here's to hoping I dont burn out!
Interesting, that's something I wouldn't have noticed. So I'll give a few tries with OK and see if I can get it to fail. OK should function as so. "If there are any elemental effects (burning, frozen, winded, shock, etc). Then his multi-hit command should toggle, performing a 6 Hit combo." I also believe he gives you a Crystal Limit + too.
Thanks for the input, def gonna give this a shot later
