Hi everyone! I'm the solo dev at LOST PLAY, and my 3D zombie horde shooter HORDEFALL just launched in Early Access for Windows.

It's a top-down survivor-like. Hundreds of zombies come at you at once, and every world ends in a giant boss fight. In the first desert world, a sandworm bursts out of the ground under your feet.

  • 10 worlds and 10 giant bosses
  • 17 weapons (minigun, flamethrower, railgun, black-hole vortex gun…), dual wield, upgrades to tier 5
  • 4 heroes with their own starting guns
  • Upgrade cards after every wave, plus turrets, drones and mines
  • Campaign + Endless mode
  • Keyboard + mouse or Xbox controller

🎃 Halloween launch sale: 40% off, $2.99 until Nov 1: https://lostplaystudio.itch.io/hordefall

Which boss gives you the most trouble? Feedback on the gun feel is very welcome!

Hi all! This is the devlog thread for HORDEFALL, my 3D top-down zombie horde shooter (three.js + Electron, Windows). It just went into Early Access, and I'll keep posting progress here.

Devlog #1: hunting down the "random" freezes

In testing, the game felt laggy, especially in the menu. The odd part: the average FPS was fine. So I logged every single frame plus CPU and GPU use, and the problem wasn't slow frames at all. It was one-off freezes of 0.3 to 4 seconds.

The cause: on Windows, Chromium draws through ANGLE on D3D11, and every new kind of effect needs a GPU shader built the first time it shows up. That covers every CSS blur size, gradient, mask and blend mode in my menus, and every three.js material. Each build stalled the GPU for up to a second, and Electron throws that shader cache away when you quit.

What fixed it:

  • At boot, behind the loading screen, I draw every costly CSS effect once on tiny almost-invisible divs (358 effects in about 1.3 s), so the shaders exist before you open a menu.
  • Bosses are now built hidden and compiled in the background during the WARNING screen, not on the first frame they appear.
  • Auto graphics quality never switches mid-fight any more, only on card, shop or pause screens. A quality switch recompiles every lit material.
  • The menu and HUD 2D canvases moved to the CPU, so they need no GPU shaders.

Result in my 400-zombie + bosses test: total freeze time went from 55 s to 3 s, and the horde fight went from 11 FPS to 80 FPS. First-launch menu stutter was cut roughly in half.

Next up: more CPU work for low-end PCs (turrets are currently a lot of draw calls), then balance based on your feedback.

Hi! Sunrise Mall Tycoon is a cozy idle mall builder for Android. You start with one juice bar and grow it into a mega mall: stack floors, open 40+ shops, add escalators, and tap to collect coins. Each night you pay the bills and see what your shoppers want next.

Free APK: https://lostplaystudio.itch.io/sunrise-mall-tycoon

I'd love feedback from 3-5 people who like tycoon or management games:

1. In the first minute, is it clear what to do?

2. Does building your first shops feel satisfying?

3. Did anything confuse you or make you want to quit?

Thanks! I'll reply to everyone and try your games too.

Hi everyone! I just released my game Sunrise Mall Tycoon on itch.io, free for Android.

Sunrise Mall Tycoon - build a mega mall

You start with one little juice bar and grow it into a giant mega mall. Open food stalls, fashion stores, tech shops and fun zones, stack new floors, add escalators and elevators, and unlock the ice rink, the arcade and many more shops as your mall levels up.

Every day shoppers come in and spend. Every night you pay the bills for shops, utilities, staff and transport, and the night report shows what your shoppers want next. Hire staff, keep the mall clean, complete goals and earn awards.

  • Cozy idle tycoon and management game
  • Simple tap controls made for phones
  • No internet needed to play
  • Progress saves automatically

It is my first release on itch, so any feedback means a lot. Which shop would you want to build next in your mall?
