Thanks for the advice! Knowing when to hit the brakes and stop striving for perfection in something is very difficult, especially when you're doing it on your own.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for right now: feedback and opinions. Like you said, I’m enjoying the development process, and I know there’s a lot of competition; I’m doing this more as a personal goal, but I’d still love to know if anyone else would like it.

Thanks a lot for the realistic advice! You're right; luckily, even though game development is taking me much longer than expected, the process is rewarding for me. However, if I want to finish it someday, I need to get grounded, focus on the essentials, and accept that I won't achieve the perfection one might wish for. Cheers.

Here's where it gets juicy. When both towers target the same enemy, it's not just a simple "slow + damage" combo - it activates a hidden multiplier. Here's how it plays out:

The Frieza immobilizes the enemy: The percentage tower slows or freezes the enemy. This allows the Power Tower to apply its full DPS without missing a single tick (since the enemy is stationary, the burn AoE hits at 100% efficiency).

The real trick (Thermal Shock): When a frozen enemy takes fire/burn damage, the game applies a thermal stress strike. Mechanically, this means the burn damage combines with the percentage damage, but it also gets amplified.

Pay close attention to this math example:

Enemy with 100,000 HP.

Power Tower: 2,000 fixed damage per second.

Percentage Tower: 4% of max HP per hit (4,000 damage) every 2 seconds.

Without synergy: They deal 2k + 4k every 2s = 6k every 2 seconds. You'd be here forever.

With synergy (Thermal Shock active): The burn tick on a frozen target doesn't just do 2k—it detonates an extra 4% of the enemy's current HP for every burn tick. This means while frozen, every second the power tower burns them, they take an additional 4% of their max HP. In just 5 seconds, you've dealt 20% of their max HP + the fixed damage on top.

Basically, the percentage tower turns the power tower's fixed burn damage into "mini percentage nukes", and the fire tower turns the slow, clunky ice tower attacks into a continuous, devastating damage stream.

🚨 NEW TOWER ALERT! 🚨

Introducing the "Scorching Exponential" Tower.

This thing is a monster. It doesn't just deal damage; it sets enemies ablaze and the damage grows exponentially over time. Watch those health bars disappear! 💥🔥

What do you think of this mechanic? 👇

You're right. I've spent way too long polishing something nobody will notice. Classic solo dev move. Thanks for the reminder – back to the important stuff

Thanks for the reply! That's the plan – I'm aiming to have a playable demo out before the end of the year and avoid getting sidetracked by small stuff.

I really appreciate it, thank you.

I need some advice on actually finishing this thing on time. I know I get way too caught up polishing details that don't really affect gameplay, so I'm forcing myself to cut the fluff and focus on what matters. But honestly? I have this nagging feeling that I'll overlook something important and pay for it with a massive backtrack later...

How do you guys draw the line between 'good enough' and 'over-polished'? I'd love to hear your strategies.

Thank you for reading. ^^

PD: Ya lo vi, no es un juego, es una novela, me gusto el guion, pense que era un juego por eso dije lo de la IA, pero dado que es solo texto, no hay problema, saludos.

Hi everyone

This is my start on itch.io.

I'm a 3rd-year CS student and solo dev making a procedural Tower Defense roguelite,

where the map expands as you play, and you'll have to manage your resources wisely to survive.

I've been working on this project for a whole year now, and I'm aiming to release a playable demo early next year.

The core design is actually rooted in mathematics – I'll be diving deeper into that in future devlogs! Stay tuned!
