Welcome to the Rotor Taxa Mech Music Jam Vol. 1! The wait is over. Welcome, everyone! The official sample pack is now available. Instead of individual one-shots, you'll find recorded mechanical sound sequences. Feel free to cut, edit, chop, process, and resample them however you like.

First, join discord: https://discord.gg/zYrwWcyra

#🎁-sample-pack Turn them into kicks, snares, percussion, rhythmic patterns, drones, textures, pads, basses, leads—or invent something nobody has ever heard before. The creative possibilities are endless. A small WIP will be posted in the #🎧-work-in-progress-wips channel to give you an idea of what can be achieved with these recordings, but don't feel limited by it. Surprise us! This jam celebrates machines, robotics, mechas, industrial environments, and futuristic technology through music. Whether your track is dark, cinematic, industrial, ambient, metal, orchestral, techno, drum & bass, chiptune, or something impossible to classify... Every genre is welcome. Most importantly, have fun, experiment, and share your progress with the community. We can't wait to hear what you build from these sounds. Good luck, and let the machines sing.

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to announce the very first Rotor Taxa Mech Music Jam Vol. 1.

The challenge is simple: Compose the soundtrack of a machine that never existed.

This music composition jam is inspired by mechs, robotics, industrial machinery, and dark sci-fi.

To put everyone on equal footing, all participants will receive the same official Rotor Taxa mechanical sample pack when the jam begins. The goal is to discover how different composers can transform the exact same sounds into something completely unique.

A few key rules:

  • Original music only
  • No AI-generated music
  • No copyrighted samples or music
  • The official Rotor Taxa sample pack is required
  • Any musical genre is welcome

The best entries may be selected for the official Rotor Taxa Mech Music Jam Compilation, planned for release on major digital platforms (with each composer's permission and full credit).

Beyond this compilation, Rotor Taxa is being developed as a record label dedicated to mechanical, industrial, and sci-fi inspired music. My long-term vision is to collaborate with artists who genuinely connect with that aesthetic and, when the fit is right, release and represent their music under the Rotor Taxa label.

This jam is the first step toward building that community.

If you love composing for machines, mechs, robotics, industrial worlds, or futuristic technology, I'd love to hear your work.

Good luck—I can't wait to hear the sound of machines that have never existed.

This is planned as the first edition of a seasonal series, with new themes throughout the year.

I built a physical machine that creates mechanical Foley for games

Hi everyone!

I'm a sound designer and I've been working on an experimental project called ROTOR TAXA.

Instead of relying only on digital sound libraries, I built a system that generates synchronized mechanical sounds using real machines.

The goal is to create unique Foley for:

• Robots • Mechs • Mechanical creatures • Power armor • Futuristic weapons • Industrial machinery • Sci-fi interfaces

The machines physically move while staying synchronized with the animation, producing authentic mechanical textures that are difficult to recreate with conventional methods.

Introducing ROTOR TAXA:

I'm currently looking to collaborate with indie developers who need custom mechanical sound design for their projects. I'm also happy to collaborate for free on game jams to experiment, build connections, and help bring unique mechanical sound to creative projects.

I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts and feedback. If you're working on a game with mechanical characters or technology-heavy environments, feel free to reach out!

Thanks for reading!

Hey everyone! 👋
I'm a composer and sound designer focused on sci-fi, horror, and experimental audio. I’ve recently launched my Ko-fi page, where I’ll be sharing micro sound libraries, behind-the-scenes content, and personal sound design projects.

To kick things off, I'm giving away my first mini-library for free: 🎧 Micro Library #1: Techwear Footsteps
It includes 4 high-quality .WAV footsteps recorded on concrete – perfect for stealth, cyberpunk, or tactical characters.

🔗 You can grab it here:

Micro Library # 1 Techwear Footsteps

No sign-up or payment required – just download and enjoy!
And if you like this kind of content, feel free to follow me on Ko-fi to stay tuned for future releases.

Would love to hear what kind of sounds you'd like me to release next! 🙌
