Is it just me, or does it freeze up sometimes? Like, when I'm passing through Petalburg City near the gym and the Pokémon Center, it's always in that spot that the bugs happen. And it's not just in Petalburg, In Rustboro, it also happens right at the entrance to the city when you're leaving it.
